I'd prefer Sky Go to be on Amazon firesticks, but suppose you can't have everything...
They seem dead set on not making it easy to use Sky Go on a TV, it still doesn’t support Chromecast. It can be done with a laptop or certain games consoles.
I suspect they're concerned that if Sky Go did support Chromecast (or Mirrorcast and similar technologies), it would be seen as a cheap workaround to the Multiroom offering. So by not allowing Chromecast, they're effectively saying if you want Sky in another room, open your wallet and give us another <whatever it is - £12?> a month.
Amazing they still get away with the Multiroom fee considering it is pretty much the norm with all streaming platforms, including their own.
Sky isn't a streaming platform (yet). Now TV is, but they've always been a bit arsey about Multiroom for Sky, as it used to require a phone line connection, but as the Q product is wireless, that's a bit of a non-starter.
Not sure if Now supports Chromecast (though if Go is anything to go by, probably not).

I do get that. Could not a solution be only enabling casting if you take multiroom (ie Sky Go Extra)? I am not sure if that’s a technical possibility.
Same with VMTV Go. No Chromecasting and no app for a big screen solution, although I'm keen to see if the bog standard Android app sideloads/works on the new Chromecast with Google TV

Problem with that is nothing to stop you going round your friend's house and casting Premier League football to that TV (or, God forbid), to a TV in the pub. A very quick Google seems to suggest it isn't cheap to show football in the pub "legally":
Just had to pay £600 for the right to show Amazon Prem Games this month at my small back street pub..
Thats on top of the £600 per month BT sport subscription and £1000 per month SKY one
This month has cost me £2200 just to offer sport & Prem football to my customers#Filth
So you can probably imagine with no casting support, that protects that revenue stream from Sky's point of view, although the way things are going there may not be any pubs left to show any football but I disgress...
