LG WebOS is also supported, but doesn't support 50fps.

Is there a compatibility issue with the Sports catch up stuff? I can't see it on either my Roku or my LG TV. Do I need to dig the the NowTV Smart Box out?

Sports Catchup isn't 'officially' launched on Connected Devices currently. Mobile being the only integrated version so far. A considerable redesgn of the interface will be needed on Connected versions to provide the granularity needed to browse and select the complex sports portfolio of content. Constructing the tree on CDs will be intricate.

Sky News has had HD added to the logo on the on-screen guide. That either means the stream previously was 720p with a pretty decent upscaled picture from my 4K box or have decided that they actually provide a 1080p stream.

Incidentally as I post with Sky News off-air and playing a pre-recorded emergency tape, the programme being aired does look like native 1080.

With Freeview only providing 544x576 streams of Sky News and Sky Arts, I'm pleased to see NOW TV actively promoting that they provide a FHD alternative to the blur-o-vision PQ Freeview channels.

Edit: After Sky News returned to normal at midnight, they're using the same feed as used on Sky News HD for Sky and Virgin, which doesn't have the green tint above the Sky News DOG.

The Sky News app (720p) and SD versions have the green tint above the logo, which NOW TV had when it launched Sky News on the platform which would suggest that initially they were restreaming the Sky News app feed at 720p for Now TV boost users.

Hearing that NOW TV has launched on Android TV, not yet tested it. If so I’d suggest that we’ve got fairly universal coverage now.

It's not on the App Store yet for Shield, but I won't be surprised considering the new Chromecast is soon to launch with an Android TV interface.

Once it does launch with hopefully NOW TV Boost support, it should mean my 4K box will be going in the cupboard.

It appears the launch on Android TV is exclusive to Sony Bravia sets manufactured after 2016.

Incidentally reading on the 'other' forum, Sky News is FTV for Bravia users even if they don't have a pass using the NOW TV app. I'm not sure if that is the case for other devices who don't have an entertainment pass.

Could this potentially open the way to Now TV cropping up on Fire TV, which is itself basically a fork of Android?

If the apk is available, and compatible with Fire.

I've managed to get NOW TV to work with the Fire Tablets I own after sideloading the Google Play Store, but the Fire TV would require a fork of the Sony Bravia APK and even then it still may not work.

I've sideloaded other Android TV apps which have worked onto the 4K Fire Stick, but they may not work properly.

Rather annoyingly, the Russia v Sweden match was taken off the "Bonus Streams" / "Red Button" at about 75 mins tonight replaced with a slide for Iceland v Romania. Wonder if Sky Sports have been recruiting their playout staff from ITV?
