Oh US, got me excited then.

I think there's already an exclusive deal with Netflix Canada as well, basically extending the arrangement across North America.

Something for Sky perhaps to be concerned about in the future ?

How so?
Sky already have first run rights from most of the major studios and have done for quite some time.

Presumably Square Eyes is indicating that the studios IN FUTURE might choose Netflix over Sky rather than renewing their existing deals once they expire.

Possibly but it was reported in April that Sony signed a pan-European deal with Sky.

With regards to Disney and Pixar, they signed a "multi-year" deal last year:

It means Sky Movies will be the first place consumers can watch the latest Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars titles after they appear at the cinema, on DVD and on download-to-own services.

I suspect Sky aren't that fussed about the deals for Netflix in the US - if Apple become involved that may change.

The Sky agreement doesn't appear to cover IPTV services as the Disney Channel is leaving NOW TV in mid-June. This doesn't affect Sky Movies Disney and the catch-up content on there.

Disney Channel is different to Sky Movies Disney, my link was referring to the movie deal. Disney has had its own issues with Sky over the years though for one reason or another.

Should that come to fruition, I'd permanently cancel my Netflix subscription, and switch to Amazon!

Could you live without House of Cards?

You can always buy the blu-ray.

Could I live without House Of Cards? Yes. I've only watched the first two episodes from season 1 and that's it. While I can indeed buy it on Blu-ray, personally I would rather not. I rarely bother with optical media nowadays, except for video games.

Anyway, that's off-topic talk perhaps better discussed in a separate thread, so I'll leave it at that.
