I’ve just tried to use ITV Hub via our You View box to watch Monday’s episode of Bancroft. It’s not there ( and apart from all the daytime junk) nothing much else seems to be available via that portal. Using the ios app on my phone, it is available ( along with all the other evening stuff) Why the difference?

I don't know if it's of any help to you but all the previous episodes are available on my Freesat box via the ITVhub.

I tried that too on our Freesat box, but the box failed to connect. It's worked before, but it's all really clunky and lo-res via that. I'll try again tonight with some hard reboots.

In my experience the only broadcaster streaming service that works properly, and has half decent picture quality, is BBC iplayer.

I'm sorry to read you're having problems. After reading your post I switched the Samsung telly on, selected the ITV hub, easily navigated to Bancroft, selected the episode I wanted to see (Ep1). It loaded up, played a commercial then off we went into the first episode which seemed in ok quality to me. So, sort of 'easy peasy' for me really.

For what's its worth, I wouldn't bother watching it. The build up to the last 15 mins was really gripping stuff (I thought) but the actual ending was a watered down, very damp squib.

Re my post above. Of course thinking about it, I’m watching the ITV Hub via the Samsung telly’s internet connection which is connected to my BT homehub 6 and thence directly to the inter web and the Freesat box has nothing to do with it! Is it different with a youview set up?

Youview box has an internet connection ( but no Plusnet/BT TV sub) so BBC i player works fine, but obviously not BT Sport etc. By coincidence, I’ve got a friend’s brand new You View box here connected to my internet, and ITV Hub works fine, and is full of all content expected ! I’m confused !

The Freesat box had ITV Hub on Ch 901, but that’s dead as a doo-doo ( never used to be !)

We’ll watch the first two eps of Bancroft on my friend’s box this weekend ( I recorded eps 3 and 4 off air)

Oh, it’s no Line of Duty then ? 😟

Have not watched that, but thoroughly recommend ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better call Saul’ on Netflix.

Oh yes, watched both of those, superb slow burning American drama, brilliant stuff

I agree........,

The recording also cut off before the end, (another triumph for ITV's ability to provide a proper catch up facility !) the last image we saw was Brancroft looking at herself in her new uniform. I assume that was the end ?

I recommend to you Line of Duty, very similar plot idea, with threads that overlap series, but each series does have a proper conclusion. The first three or four series are available on Netflix. If you enjoyed the first 3.75 eps of Bancroft, you will love LoD, it's full of fantastic twists and shocks.

Yes, some friends have recommended it too. Even though we don't watch much telly these days there never seems to be enough time. Happy Christmas.
