I know maybe this is not what the forum is for but I can not find help anywhere on the internet. On both of my 32inch Televisions one is Toshiba Regza and the other is a Technika (one has a sky sd box and one has a freesat sd box) the picture does not seem to be in true 16:9 , this is partricularly noticeable on certain channels which do not use 14:9 safe zones and the DOG is cut off. The box settings are in 16:9 and so is the TV , the channels on the built in freeview are fine and are in true 16:9 both boxes are connected by SCART leas if that helps.

What happens if you force the TV to 4:3 - does the full 16:9 image come out of the box, or is it being cropped there?

When i force the tv into 4:3 , it just crops the same image problem.

If your using Sky HD, VHD, Freeview HD (basically anything 720p or 1080i/p resolution), see if there's a 'Just Scan' or 'Screen Fit' option. That turns off the overscan. Looks like your TV is overscanning about 10%

I am using a sky SD box at the moment unfortunatley , is there any option for it?

If you look up your TV's model number with 'overscan' in Google, there might be a forum that tells you how to adjust the overscan. (Engineer settings)

Thank you.

If its still cropping it out, I'd suspect the sky box isn't sending out the correct image rather than the tv over-cropping.

Just a thought... Sky can upgrade your SD box to HD for free:
