Indeed; I can report the same experience with Sky stands to the most literal extent. Only TalkTalk are anywhere near that level of ubiquity round here by parking a big trailer in front of my local Poundland quite often.

TalkTalk and Virgin appear are at the local small scale shopping centre on a regular basis. Sky however appear to have spaces at all the major shopping centres including Westfield. The local Morrisons also has a regular Virgin stand.

I hear what people are saying but a fixed point of contact within an environment where sales can be processed there and then, and possibly include the release of the receiver is a different league to the Sky and VM stands and shop displays.

Unless the receivers are actually stocked (and I'd be surprised if they were), there is nothing different - those Sky and Virgin stands are there to process sales. I presume if you turn up with a customer service request (other than "I'd like to upgrade") they'll be unable to help, just the same.

Sky actually promote their sales stands along with a locator on their website. Not all of them are as glam as the pic, but they provide a basic sales service.
