Hideously expensive and complex to manage multiple subs too.

I'll give Studio Universal Classics a go as they have a 30 day trial, but I doubt I'll use for longer than that. BFI also looks interesting for arthouse cinema, but again, I doubt I'll use it past the trial stage.

If I was to pay for one of the services, it'd be ITV Hub+, but the Kodi app already has ad free streams.

Eurosport live channels are 720p HD using the Amazon player and use adaptive bitrate streaming.

Discovery only has the Discovery channel as an IPTV channel, no Animal Planet, DMAX, ID etc, which is a massive shame. However that is also 720p.

Are they 720p50 or 720p25? Sport at 25p always looks lousy...

I've compared the Amazon Player feed with another and the Amazon feed appears to be 50fps.

Incidentally, ITV Hub+ VoD is 1080p! (erm..30fps)

Amazon Prime Video and BBC Worldwide have signed an agreement for CBBC and CBeebies shows to be included on the platform.

The non-exclusive agreement covers popular CBeebies series Hey Duggee, Go Jetters, Sarah & Duck, Charlie & Lola and Gigglebiz, as well as hit CBBC shows like The Story Of Tracy Beaker and Horrible Histories.

Can't think what the new generation Amazon Fire TV reminds me of.

It's a squarial version of the Chromecast!

This new Fire TV isn't the successor to the Fire TV 2, this is a new mid-range Fire TV for those who want a bit more 'oomph' than the 2nd Gen Firestick. An Ethernet adaptor is also being released for £14.99 as this device is otherwise wifi only. However this will be the first device in the Fire TV family to be upgraded to Fire OS 6, a forked version of Android Nougat.

The successor to the Fire TV 2 will be cube shaped and is basically an Echo Dot put into a Fire TV.
