I've met Nick several times. He and Jill Dando were responsible for my doing 2 weeks work experience at Breakfast many moons ago.

Newsroom, how did you go about getting work experience at the BBC?

These says you can only apply online ... go to the website and you can choose News in London and then various areas.

Apparently Nick was upset and taken aback at the comments.:

Poor Nick, he's a really good reporter and seems like a really nice guy. Prince Charles was way too harsh. Matrix, where did you hear that Nick was upset by the comments?

........................... or Carrie Gracie, but good luck to Sophie. Smile

You know I was surpirsed the other day watching her. I usually see her or Joanna Gosling with Chris Lowe.
But recently they seem to be doing more of their own things and boths are excellent when left alone.

Yes I agree. I don't have digital TV at in my flat, so I only watch News 24 when I'm at my parents house. but when I was on holiday for the easter weekend, my hotel room had didgtal TV. I saw Carrie on News 24 on Saturday morning and thought she was really good and very engaging with the viewers. I think she should be promoted to BBC One News to present the 1 O' clock News once Anna retires or the 10 O' Clock news on weekends.

Well there was rumours of this pool of presenters, seems like most have drownd now but still we live in hope and Anna got to retire soon....either that or have a cardiac on the National.

That's not nice, I like Anna. Smile

Sorry. I have visions. She's definatly old school BBC News aprtly the reason I quite like her, she has that air of authoirity when shes talking. During the Hutton Whitewash she was excellent and a real face on BBC News.
Did worry slightly when they talked of simularcasting the 1 with News 24.

Yes, I agree. I love the authority she conveys when she's presenting the News, especially when she signs off for the regional news, she's very prim and proper. Very Happy

Don't worry, apprantly even if the 1 is simulcast with News 24 Anna and Darren will still present it. Very Happy

I'd rather have Darren on the six than on the one. I think he's better suited to the style. I'd also like to see Darren on the ten, I think he could work well on the programme.

Cant he just stay on ONE Bulletin? Also Winifred ~ If you want to watch an awarding Breakfast you should watch it with Bill and Sian on! They are the best in the business along with Moira too of course! Very Happy

Darren Jordon is fast becoming the Mike Embley of BBC1. He's on virtually every bulletin! He often does more than just Friday's One O'clock News, and does practically every weekend. Every time I tune in, it's Darren.

You can say that again, I like Darren but why is he ALWAYS on BBC ONE News, can't they get someone else once in a while?

I agree with you about Moira, she's a legend, but Bill and Sian just don't do it for me, I don't know why,,I just can't put my finger on it. Sorry, but that's just my opinion.

Good for you. Thats your opinion and I respect that winifred. So you prefer Natasha and Dermot?

yes. Smile
