BBC Breakfast

When was this, I don't think the BBC would let two females (or two males) present the a news pregramme. If a news programme is presented by two people it's usually a man and a woman. Confused

Sophie , the new Queen of BBC News Goodbye Moira!

IMO Moira is the queen, and Sophie the heir, Natasha third in line!

Nah, Natasha's down there with Fergie. Anna Ford would make quite a good Princess Anne though. Wink

Nah, I like Anna Ford, but Natasha has more charisma (she's already been crowned Dancing Queen), so she is third in line. Anna is fifth after Sophie who is forth.

Reporting Scotland & Scotland Today

I was watching Reporting Scotland a few weeks ago with Sally Magnusson. I think she's really good. She should be promoted to BBC National News e.g. the 1, 6 or 10 O' Clock News.

Sally, of course used to be national - she did Breakfast Time, then Breakfast News for about 10 years, and she may have, although I am not sure have done the odd One/Six.

Thanks. I didn't know that. It sounds a bit strange though! Most Newsreaders start by presenting Regional News and get promoted to National News e.g. Fiona Bruce who used to present on Newsroom South East (now called BBC London News) and Sophie Raworth who used to present Look North) not the other way round. Tyne Tees North East Tonight On Border TV

TELEVISION posted:
I really think someone ought to tell 10.30 Border newsreader Kate Webster what channel she works for. At the end of every late bulletin she says ' We'll be back tomorrow in Breakfast ', maybe she thinks she's BBC1. Very Happy

I'm sure someone at BBC Midlands said something along those lines - "bulletins tomorrow in GMTV" or something like that.

Really!!! That's very bad. Shocked Laughing

No BBC One morning summary?

jamej posted:
Turned on just before 11 for the news update but there wasn't one this morning - is there some sort of problem? All we got was the announcer saying that there would be the latest news and weather at 1pm. Confused

Never mind. Worse things happen. Laughing

BBC Breakfast

And back they were! I'd forgotten just how damned good they work together. Didn't half cheer me up this morning! If only Dermot and Natasha had that chemistry.

Dermot and Natasha do have that chemistry. I could see them as a married couple. The only problem is that Dermot is married with 4 children. But I think they are the best TV News couple. Very Happy

I agree with you about Moira being the Queen, but Fiona is the heir, not Sophie. I also agree that Natasha is third in line.

Sophie should be forth in line.

ITN Newscaster sacked as magistrate

Funky Guy posted:
I feel realy sorry for Carol Barnes it hasn't been an easy time for her recently .I wished she was back on ITV 1 reading the news i just hate what ITN did to her and Julia Sommerville. It's outrageous they have to take a back seat to the likes of Mary ****ingale and Nina the wimp !!!!! how insulting for them.

What did ITN do to Julia and (Christmas) Carol? Very Happy . and why is Nina a wimp, she's seems like a strong lass to me. I wouldn't like to fight her in a boxing ring. Very Happy

Sophie , the new Queen of BBC News Goodbye Moira!

I like Sophie, but she's not the Queen of BBC News. That belongs to Moira. Once Moira levaes / retires (which I hope she doesn't) then the Queen of BBC News will be the lovely Fiona Bruce. Very Happy
