Yes it's nice to see Sophie around, but I think they should have given the job to Moira, she would have been fantastic.

Well, if you think that's unjustified, Fiona Bruce earns 1 million pounds a year according to ''Breakfast News'' (one of the people on this forum). I like Fiona, but 1 million pounds a year is just flaming ridiculous. Shocked

Yes, I was at Leeds Uni until June 2004 when I finished my BA Geography course. I'm now at Edinburgh Uni doing a masters.

My friend went to Birmingham. Good uni. I went to visit her a few months ago. The nightlife is amazing. Laughing


I left quite a few years ago but even then the nightlife WAS birmingham uni.
Birmingham always has been my favourite city. There is just so much to do. I remember been on the german market before watching the relaunch of News 24 on the giant screens next to City Hall. It has such an energy and the Uni is amazing. I loved my time there. Out of interest where are you?

So what you though it OK to alter my statements. I do not earn 400k or how ever much she earns. I resent telling people my pay-package and do not openly tell people how much I earn.

sorry bit of an over-reaction I feel on my part. Its just so boring been stuck in editoral with nothing to do. Anyway you happened to mention you were looking into becoming a BBC correspondent, did you happen to see how much newgathers earn?

When I first left Uni I looked into the Beeb, and in-deed did work for them for a while. It wasn't much and there was the bands thingy. I thing it varies depending upon the "levels" within the BBC. I only worked there for a year before my wife became pregenant and we decided to move to the countryside.
Alas I found a job working in my local town, on rather excellent pay and a rather nice swivel chair.
I believe it changed again with the introduction of the "Price Bands" so am now completly unaware.
The BBC website sometimes gives helpful advice on this sort of stuff. I shall have to check it out.

On a seperate note £1Million seems outragous for a presenter.
