I’d be surprised if Global’s big-name music presenters earn significantly less than Eddie Mair, especially when Amanda Holden was reported to be on a £3m salary.
Holden is the exception rather than the rule. A standard music presenter who is on an off-peak shift will earn considerably less than Heart's big name celeb.

Speech stations have more staff to produce the programmes. Global's main breakfast and drive music shows are also heavily staffed, but off-peak music shows are mainly the presenter who is driving the desk. The music presenter will also come in early to produce the local split links that go out.
LBC in addition to the presenter has a producer, a broadcast assistant who answers the calls whose job it is to check to the calls to see if they're suitable for broadcast and puts them up on the board and there's also a gallery for online, some shows will be streamed online, while others will be recorded and clipped to post on social media. All of that is before you factor in the salaries of the talent, you're not going to get the likes of Eddie Mair on music presenter salaries.

I can’t imagine they’ll do much, given the 9am bulletin is only a minute or so.

However, I understand what you’re saying. You shouldn’t have to change the settings on the box to see the logos properly. They should have just changed the colours to be visible in the first place.
