Has anyone else seen the new bbc.co.uk/news promo? "updated every minute". Quite a good mantage of the BBC News correspondants around the world adding to the site.
If it is the one with them all typing into various devices then yes, I caught it last night on BBC4
I think!
There are a few new shots of clips that are used in the countdowns. I think it will go down well with internatiional viewers too.
Louise deserted Bill at 8.45 this morning, left him to talk fashion and laziness at work with studio guests while she must have had to report to Andrew Marr's team and get herself ready to to the BBC1 bulletin on the AM show.
This has been a regular occurrence during Sunday Breakfast ever since Moria Stuart 'stopped' reading the news summary.
Surely there must have been another person (Jane Hill), who could have co-presented for a while?
She did after she'd done the BBC1 bulletin.
So Peter and Jane presented together? For how long, and how did they 'get on'? Is that the first time he's presented with someone on N24?
I know I have seen him present with someone before, clearly had to be some serious event
(what has happened over the weekend? (please no-one say 'wally' the Thames whale!))
I did notice that Jane Hill turned up on News 24, and it made a huge difference to the output for the reasons I have mentioned before. I presume that her late arrival was due to her preparing for the early evening National Bulletin.
Sissons has what is so desperately lacking from many newsreaders -- an air of authority and trust, which endears him to viewers...
I have to agree with this. He does have that authority persona, and as has been shown with Question Time and his 'fill-ins' on Sunday AM/Breakfast with Frost he can be very good with unscripted items.
It must have been difficult with what was major breaking story and being the only presenter.
Sky News suffered with this when they had one presenter. You can not be expected to be reacting to the gallery instructions, BBC News were lucky to have one of their staff there so got lots of early reaction/interviews, look and take in information coming in on his laptop, conduct interviews and also be be flawless to camera.
He did ask some good questions and also analysed information excellently sometimes, but as has been pointed out at other times seemed to be overwhelmed with situation.
