Alastair Stewart to leave ITV News.

Alastair’s departure leaves Tom Bradby as the only male ITV newsreader. Nina Hossain, Mary Nightingale, Julie Etchingham, Charlene White, Ranvir Singh, Kylie Pentelow and Lucrezia Molinari all present the main bulletins. I make that 1 male, 7 women women who regularly present (not including the more random stand in appearances from Chris Ship etc). Will ITV be looking for a new male newsreader I wonder?

Becky Mantin weather report after the ITV Evening News at 6.55pm had already been posted on the ITV news website at 2.07pm.

What should happen is that the bbc news should move its bulletin back to 9pm. The bbc doesn’t need to chase ratings in the same way that itv does. This then gives itv a much better chance to offer a bulletin at 10 rather than the ridiculous current situation. Simple.

Laura Tobinis initially part time on GMB, with Alex doing two days. He’ll also do a bit of national weather and also West Country. As before.

Isn’t Charlene White back from maternity soon? I must say I prefer Ranvir’s delivery and general presentation to Charlene White, who I find a bit “light-weight”.

Laura Tobin returns to Good Morning Britain on Friday after her maternity leave so I imagine Alex Beresford will be back on West County, and also the nationals.

When Live News goes Horribly Wrong

Moira was presenting the occasional Saturday bulletin on BBC1 in 2006. The BBC newsreaders thread on here has discussion of it. Sadly I can’t find anything on Youtube. I think she then left the beeb in late 2007.

I find ITV Weather inconsistent in its weather presentation. There’s a real quality difference in the forecasts of the meteoreologically trained presenters and the rest.
