Drama Premiere Sponsorship up for grabs in 2005

Philip Cobbold posted:
Did HSBC start sponsering in 1996, with Midland Bank before that, or did Midland start in 1996, and HSBC take over the sponsership when the Midland Bank's name was removed?

I don't know, all the itvsales.com website says was
Quote:
HSBC has sponsored ITV Drama Premieres since 1996 – their deal ends after Christmas 2004. The bank was the first to seize the unique opportunity of sponsoring original and classic dramas in peak time on ITV.

Maybe someone else knows?

Drama Premiere Sponsorship up for grabs in 2005

Drama Premiere sponsorship is up for grabs in 2005 after HSBC's deal ends this year. HSBC first started sponsoring ITV Drama Premieres in 1996 and 8 years of sponsorship, it's coming to an end.
So who we'll we see for new sponsorship in 2005?

It wasn't a mistake because they used it at lunchtime too, must just be the end of the United Utilities sponcership deal.

Yeah, that was it. I've never really liked the United Utilities sponsorship, so I'm happy that it's ended.
I wonder who they will use next? BMI Baby?

The Paul O Grady Show General Discussion

I was searching through a website when I come across to this.

Monday 29th November at 4.30pm
Tuesday 30th November at 12.30pm
Tuesday 30th November at 4.30pm
Wednesday 1st December at 12.30pm
Wednesday 1st December at 4.30pm

These are dates and show times of the Paul O' Grady Show. Now I don't know why there is a show time for 12:30, but for 4:30 - obviously it is the 5pm show. But does the 12:30 time mean the Paul O' Grady Show will also show at 1pm? Also this means that the show will continue to at least the 1st December.

Granada

If it is on the Coronation Street omnibus again well it is on ITV2 at 15:30 and the programme after that is Emmerdale Secrets at 17:50, so Corrie should finish at about 17:45, so we'll see if the endcap turns up again.

P.S. The clocks go back 1 hour at 2am to 1am (GMT).

Cock up on ITV 1Yorkshire

Granada Weather had no sponsorship advert, instead we had a short video saying Granada Weather with some moving clouds in the background complete with voiceover, saying Granada Weather.

EDIT: It was like this but obviously replacing Yorkshire for Granada.
Apologies for the small picture.

If Thames was still the London Franchise by 1993 and onwards then Thames might have not bought Central, and Westcountry and Granada may still have HTV. And if Granada and Thames didn't get on well then ON/ITV digital may have never happened. Evenmore so ITV2 may have never happened and we probably have ITV and not ITV1.
But some strange things happen in the future, so my guess is as good as anyone's.

ITV1 was a branding exercise and a namechange taken in August 2001, ITV2 had already been on the air for just under 3 years prior to the name change. I think the spiel at the time was to make it sound like a family of channels.

This will test my memory. I can't remember if it was Meridian who bought Anglia or the other round way but ultimately they joined forces and bought HTV. Granada came on the scene and decided they wanted the three but were not allowed due to the unfair competition and monopoly so they were allowed to have part of the three so HTV was dropped from the equation and Carlton snapped HTV up.

Your assuming Thames would have taken Carlton's role on by snapping up Westcountry and Central. Who knows, your guess is as good as mine but the likes of Ondigital and the spin off from that was a product from Granada / Carlton and probably looking back on hindsight was probably Granada's doing and this led a big financial mess which is probably why the stations it took over went on a cost drive exercise to make them non existant and led to the mess ITV is now in terms of it's regionality

Ah, I forgot about United News & Media Group. And what I meant was Thames may have left Central and Westcountry alone. United may have bought Central and Westcountry and that may have a different impact to Granada. Granada may have just left them alone. Thames and all of the other independent groups may have an merger or something of that kind and ITV could be totally different. It's all so complicated. There could be so many possibilities.

If the new "G" endcaps (presumably in the style of the new Granada Ventures logo) have already appeared, then why has Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway still got the old generic "A GR/N/D/ Production" purple endcap?

The new Granada production endcap was meant to be shown on 1st November and not earlier.

New ITV logos revealed

I started to think, the itvi logo is similar to the itv2 logo, and now the itv2 logo is changing, what would happen to the itvi logo?

I did a quick mock of what the itvi logo would look like and this is what it looks like.

I personally like the itvi logo this way because now it doesn't look like the BBCi logo anymore.
