Ireland's Best Eurovision Performance Ever

Everyone in RTE was really optimistic about this. When I saw it I didn't know whether to laugh or cry Razz

I used it on the likeness of their songs.

I think you're being a bit optimistic about Ireland..... AND I'M IRISH!!! The song was chosen by viewers of the Irish equivalent of Parkie - Nice one RTE - the average Eurotrash viewer that actually votes is about 9....

Channel six

Nice idea but looks a lot like SF1 and it reminds me of a former look of BBC Choice...

The cubes might be a problem for News if you don't want it to look like the old ITV look.

Maybe I'm just being nitpicky but I think that there shouldn't be any more than 6 cubes per ident

Pretty good. Maybe they could do it without the desk visible etc like tagesschau, and maybe green instead of blue so it's not identical Razz

And they should bring back to 2003 theme!

I saw this German pres style a few weeks ago and thought it would be perfect for RTE News (well, apart from the synchronisation bit...):

ARD Das Erste - Tagesschau

That works quite well with no headline sequence and the CSO is used really well, both to "enlarge" the studio and for background graphics.

Well they could rent studio space, or at least enlarge the news studio. It is completley unacceptable to be crammed into a space the size of my bedroom.

I agree but RTE don't seem to. By adding in the current background they actually made the studio a lot smaller...

In fairness, the current theme is not Prime Time's first - a different theme was used from the show's launch and retained for most of the 1990s. And was much more exciting IMO (though it would sound dated now).

Sorry - I just remember the current theme being used from the mid/late 90s up to now.

couldn't they at least make the set look larger, even if it's via CSO ala ITV.

As long as they don't insist on walking around for the entire bulletin Rolling Eyes
