Anyone looking for a job?

Hey all,

I own my own business and I am now, in associaition with Channel Creative, branching out to TV graphics, design and annimation and I'm looking for someone who knows most of the major graphic software well.

You need to have at least one qualification in graphic design, a showreel or portfollio of some of your work (mocks very welcome), a broadband connection, software such as Corel 12, Flash, Shockwave etc, a landline and good communication skills - and be able to work to a tight deadline.

Network Centre is in the ITN Building I belive. It's seperate from the ITV Plc. operation (apparently).


Yes, that's right. The ITV Network Centre is at 100 Grays Inn Road and ITV plc is at the South Bank Studios. ITV has always been at Grays Inn Road, but since ITV got rid of the regions, the old LWT studios have become ITV plc's Head Office. GMTV is still at the South Bank though,

For the Skycopter to work, there needs to be a tv truck somewhere nearby with the capability to accept the downlink from the helicopter, then uplink it back up to a satellite.

The tv truck at Stockwell might not have been equiped with the right gear to take the signal from the helicopter. Or even if it was, there might not have been a spare path out to feed pictures from it.

Anyway, the Skycopter just appears to be a nuisence. It can't get close enough to show anything much, and even if it tried to, it'd get pulled down by police.

Infact Sky's coverage has been awful the last 2 days: sensationalist crap, reporting and running with rumours that turn out to be totally untrue. This sort of reporting helps noone, and just helps to cause alarm.


According to the British Air Traffic Control here in Bournemouth, only the Police Helicopter and scheduled flights are currently allowed over London at the moment. The Skycopter was over the M25 and M1 interchange about an hour ago.

The 11+

I have just spoken to someone at BBC NI who said that the 11+ won't be broadcast on digital satelite. It will be on digital cable, Freeview, analogue and top-up tv. The digital interactive feed will be available on cable, Freeview and top-up.tv. There are plans to bring it to the DSAT platform, but they are awaiting confirmation from the Education Authority.

But, BBC One (national) will plug the website nearer the date so you can take part - however, the images will be removed and replaced with their own graphic.
