The children in the playground ident was shown in full before Eastenders (7.00pm).

The second new ident was shown before the news (6.00pm) and features two men dressed in red falling down from the roof of the Millenium Stadium to reveal a huge Welsh flag.

I hope these remain in use from tomorrow onwards!

One of the new idents was shown before Neighbours (5.35pm) with school kids running in the playground in Welsh costume.

I wonder if these idents will be shown beyond today? I expect so, as they wouldnt create two new idents to show them on one day a year!

Uktv Style Gardens

The only problem with the above idea is that i doubt Travel Channel & Travel Channel 2 will agree to being moved down the EPG !!! Travel Channel would not be happy! But, it would be good if Travel Channel & Travel Channel 2 does move!

Just seen some of the idents on UKTV Style Gardens and they are quite imaginative!
I still predict that it will change it name to UKTV Gardens in next few months.
I expect UKTV Gardens +1 will launch but it will bump UKTV Drama off the end. I predict UKTV Drama will move down the EPG next to UKTV Bright Ideas on EPG # 197 . UKTV G2 +1 could move to EPG # 198.

Therefore:

142 UKTV Style
143 UKTV Style +1
144 UKTV Gardens
145 UKTV Gardens +1
146 UKTV Food
147 UKTV Food +1

196 UKTV Bright Ideas
197 UKTV Drama

The only problem would be when UKTV Bright Ideas +1 launches!
If that happened, UKTV G2 +1 would stay on EPG # 256.

If UKTV Gardens +1 launched, i think it would go on EPG 145. UKTV Food would move to 146 and UKTV Food +1 would move to 147. UKTV Drama could move next to UKTV Bright Ideas on 197.

Yes, i predict that UKTV Style Gardens will rename itself UKTV Gardens in the next few months. I think it only had the word style in its name so it could get put next to UKTV Style on the Sky EPG and not at the end of the entertainment section.
I also predict UKTV Gardens +1 is on the cards!

UKTV Style could rename to UKTV Lifestyle
UKTV Bright Ideas will either close or remain - im not sure.
If it stays i expect UKTV Bright Ideas +1 is planned!
Im not sure whats happening with UKTV Drama - will it close or expand its hours and launch UKTV Drama +1 ?? Who knows.....

Also, nothing is sharing with UKTV G2 +1 at the moment - i expect a new UKTV channel will launch to timeshare with this. UKTV Bright Ideas +1 could share with UKTV G2 +1 like this:

UKTV Bright Ideas +1 7am - 7pm
UKTV G2 +1 9pm - 4am

This makes sense as UKTV Bright Ideas shares with UKTV G2.

"Major" Sky EPG reshuffle - coming soon?

Yes, it seems a big EPG number reshuffle might be going ahead on March 14th!
I think ALL the music channels are moving up the EPG to start at 451 rather than 440 . This would give more room for the sports section. The music section could look like this from March 14th:

458 VH1 Classic

460 The Box

However, i think it would be better if these channels were located out of the way of the mainstream music channels in a separate mini section:

Then, once the music section has moved, the very crowded sports section could be reshuffled.
I also think that to solve the shopping section being full, they should move THE WHOLE kids section to start at 351 . Then, QVC could start at 601 and create lots more room for that section.

The end of the documentaries section also needs a reshuffle.

The radio and adult channels section is also full........

Im not sure how big this reshuffle is, but the music section is definetly involved.

Dramatic idents

I think the most dramatic ident is the Sky Premier ident from 1998 - 2002 with the goldern women falling to form the screen with Sky Premier written on it.
I also liked the music that was played on Sky Premier Widescreen at this time when the channel was off air most of the day before it started broadcasting from 6pm on weekdays and 12 midday on weekends.
The Sky Movies Premier ident that followed this look was also dramatic but not as dramatic. The Sky Movies Premier Widescreen music that followed was also not as good.

UKTV Style Gardens to launch Feb 21st?

But apparently the channel will launch on the EPG on Feb 21st as a soft launch and fully launch on March 21st.
UKTV Style listings dont show any gardening programmes from FEBRUARY 21st. Which is obviously the handover date of all gardening programmes to UKTV Style Gardens.

Any schedules on internet yet?

An engineering test for UKTV Style Gardens has appeared on 11.817 V on Sky Digital. So it looks like the channel MIGHT launch on Monday 21st February. Channels dont usually take 5 weeks to test so i doubt it will be March 21st.
