That always annoys me, I've seen several shows where bluring the logo makes it far more obvious. i can also think of a 'Sex and the City' scene where they were eating McDonalds and the bluring of the logo is the only reason I noticed it.
Would product placement lead to having to cover up logos of non paid for brands here ( like loads of fly on the wall US stuff that has to cover clothing logos etc)?
EU gives Product placement the go-ahead

True product placement can get very annoying - not as annoying as when they try to cover it up though, like American Idol where they blur out, what are blatantly Coca-cola cups.

I think the live shot of presenters is better. Clips would be alright if they were interesting but some are a bit boring. Its quite a flexable idea as an opening, it would be good sometimes to have live location shots of something thats coming up- like when waiting for a press confrence or downing street etc

did anyone else prefer it when they had live shots of the presenters in the TOTH sequence rather than just random images?

Thats the new opening.
He knows that, he's just saying that it started off earlier than normal. I think. because the other day it showed lots of shots then about 6 seconds later themusic started.
I saw them use a blured newsroom image with the logo out of the weather back in to the headlines at about half past. I dont think it was a live shot but it looked better than the blue bars.

Just seen the toth then, and for a brief second, instead of it starting were it usually started, it started with a blurry shot of the upstairs.

And isn't he a mouthy arsehole until it gets serious.
ha yeah he is. I'm supprised that BBC London didnt pick up on the whole tube network closing as being more important than just travel news. I know hindsight and all but the entire tube network being closed down is a big story. I heard Five Live on the day and they seemed to pick up on the story quicker than Gaunt..

Seeing those pictures from the relaunch reminded me we still haven’t seen the appearance of Sky News' studio 2 which I remember reading about in the info from sky at the time. Wonder if it will ever appear or has it been quietly dropped?
It would be nice to see the TOTH sequence be changed when they kill off WNT and the Sky Report. It’s a shame as the Sky Report is quite good.

Sky appear to have given there ticker over to the latest England score..and a "Fan Watch" mini screen has appeared- it looks a bit messy.Seeing those pictures from the relaunch reminded me we still haven’t seen the appearance of Sky News' studio 2 which I remember reading about in the info from sky at the time.
