Classic Emmerdale

To be fair though, most branded village shops tend to be part of the smaller convenience chains such as Costcutter, Londis, Nisa, etc..

Tesco owns OneStop which seem to be quite common in small villages around me.

In my village:

4 pubs
1 social club
1 factory
several farms
3 sports pavilions
2 shops (1 has a post office)
3 garages
Several places for accomodation
1 vets
1 deli/farm shop

and much more besides... Smile

TV Forum

It was essentially a hybrid of a chatroom and thread. The "reply" box was at the top of the page (I think) and new posts would automatically appear at the top of the page in real time. After the "live" element of the thread had ended, it would revert to a normal thread for further comments and looking back on what was said. It has been used for elections and Eurovision nights in the past.

It was used for the launch of Good Morning Britain IIRC.

Dianne Oxberry

Gordon Burns joined Roger on North West Today this lunchtime. Both their voices wobbling at times.

Gordon will be back again on North West Tonight this evening. Will definitely be a difficult programme for all.

I always thought when Breakfast went to Salford that Dianne would make a great addition to the team deputising for Carol whenever she was away. Alas this will never be the case now.

Dianne Oxberry

Quote:
Award-winning BBC television and radio presenter Dianne Oxberry has died aged 51 following a short illness, her family said.

She died at the Christie hospital in Manchester on Thursday morning.

Oxberry became well-known nationally on Radio 1, working alongside Simon Mayo and Steve Wright.

After studying meteorology she became the North West's weather presenter in 1994 and also fronted the Inside Out North West current affairs programme.

Fellow BBC North West Tonight presenters Roger Johnson and Annabel Tiffin said they were heartbroken and it was hard to imagine the programme without her.

The TV Booth Podcast

I'm recording the podcast with Erron Gordon tomorrow. Thanks to those who sent in questions to ask him. Sadly most of them can't be answered for legal reasons, but I think it's going to be a great start!

When's the release Rob?

Can't give an exact date at the moment; once it's been recorded, it's going to be edited. It'll be out by the end of the month.
