Goodbye TVF Gallery

pip2 posted:
Forgive me... but I just wanted to post one last time, to say thank you for taking the time to wander through the Gallery over the years, and for your feedback. I'll miss this place.

Goodnight, and thanks for watching.

As soon as a saw the globe with the text it reminded me of the Sky News of old then I put the sound on.

You have done some great mocks over the years. My favourite was the history in motion for itv creates

The Sky News Thread

FOX35 posted:
Just noticed Kay Burley has removed the "founding member of SKY NEWS" from her Twitter bio.

This is the sort of stuff I’ll miss from TVF (though will presumably continue at the new place). Could be completely inconsequential...but who knows?!

I do think its a significant development. There is space in her bio to leave it there and why suddenly remove it this far into her off air period? I would be sad to see her leave Sky News which is clearly a place she has loved working at and was proud to say she was a founding member up until a few days or a week ago but I don't look at Beth Rigby in the same way since she returned and I avoid Inzamam Rashid reports since he returned door stepping Piers Morgan on his first day back about race and the second day very inappropriately in my view shouting out at a school to the Duke of Cambridge is the royal family racist. It was not the time or the place to do that. He should have kept his head down for a while after the multiple rules breaks he made and the holiday he went on during his suspension but instead came back as bombastic as ever

When people don't follow the rules themselves seeing them criticize others on a daily basis does not work - They have lost credibility with me and I may feel the same about Kay should she return

The daily climate show sounds interesting but I do hope we don't lose Anna Jones from the 10pm shift 3 days a week for her to do a 30 minute slot. I presume she will pre record a weeks episodes in 1 go or at least the weekend ones. If not it would be a massive waste to have her on for such a short time even if she does finally get her own programme

Finally for anyone reading this from Sky News. I've praised you a lot over the years and criticized a lot of things about the presentation but I want to say how well you have all managed over the last year to bring us the amazing coverage of the pandemic. From Ed Conway and his charts to reporters embedded in care homes and ICU wards. Those pictures really brought home the reality of the situation and the reasons why we should all have stuck to the rules. I do not believe that the media were scaremongering in any way. The numbers themselves scared us and they were just reporting the reality of the situation

Saturday Night Takeaway 2021

There didn’t feel to be a lot of content on the show tonight. An Ant vs Dec or a filmed section being inserted with other sections cut down a little would have helped I feel. The end performance was good (will the Stephen’s Saturday night takeaway gag roll over to next week), as was the on air dares feature; when I saw the This Morning feature earlier in the week James Martin seemed a little annoyed with the constant interjections, I thought it was a get out of me ear type of feature, but he was in on it all along. It was always going to be hard to top last week’s episode with Cat’s undercover and the successful return of Chums.

I felt James Martin was getting very irritated with Holly & Phil so it was interesting to see he knew what was going on. I was watching GMB live at the time and did not pick up on anything unusual so they did well at adding the random words in the chat with Richard Arnold

I really enjoyed the end of the show show. Clever how they timed everything just right to appear in time to the pre recorded bits

In the minority but I also enjoyed the Ross Kemp bit but is it right to reward bad behaviour with a free holiday. I agree that she did not seem very surprised. Does anyone know if she has appeared on other shows in the past? Maybe that is why she was not visibly nervous if she is used to doing quiz or game shows

Piers Morgan to leave GMB

Unpopular opinion but I just found the majority of the show boring to watch. The debate was not really a debate. Everyone thought the same thing of which I could not disagree more with.

As for the live interview it just looked silly. She wanted to be there in person. I'm sure we all want to do things but there is a thing called a national lockdown in place which the majority of us are sticking to. She should not have travelled unnecessarily yet again when every other interview over nearly a year has been done remotely and GMB should not be pandering to her demands.

PS I like the new desk - its huge but I think it looks good on the wide shots with the sweeping camera angles and GMB's presentation generally over the 5 years has been impressive. I guess having Erron at the helm who clearly has a passion for tv presentation really helps the show.

Channel 4 - 40th Anniversary Designs

Ditch it completely. It's not necessary.

Well, he clearly doesn’t want anyone to steal his work, that’s why it’s there.

Yes the watermark is a completely acceptable addition nowadays. Otherwise it'll be on Reddit or YouTube in half an hour.

The watermark spoils all his hard work through. I would just position 1 watermark per picture in a strategic place on part of the design he does not want copying. Usually the centre of the image will be fine

Channel 4 - 40th Anniversary Designs

I like it too but personally I would remove the 2 blocks from inside the zero. Its clever how you have used the original shapes which make up the 4. The 4 is made up of 9 shapes and the outside of your zero is made of 9 shapes

I find myself getting distracted by the watermark background. At first I thought it was some special branding for their birthday but I could not understand why they were calling themselves c.channelo4 then I looked at your username Razz

Good Morning Britain - Recreation

I'm really impressed how perfectly you have managed to cut out the buildings from the sky. If I tried to do that half of the top of the building would have gone with the white parts of the clouds. What programme did you use to do it in?

No no no no parking is allowed on the upper field.

Is that parking is allowed in the upper field or not?

Saturday Night Takeaway 2021

Have to agree it was a great show tonight.

I had the remote poised to skip the opening song. it works so much better without it

The opening segment was great. The second woman's face when she was told she was going to be a Grandma was great....actually her face throughout was hilarious

Happiest minute of the week lived up to its name with 1 woman so excited her wig came off - my favourite bit was when she spent 20 seconds trying to get it back in place before giving up and another woman jumped in her seat when the rest of the family screamed around her

The Costa segment had some laugh out loud moments

Singalong live was better in living rooms rather then the pointless gimmick of doing it outside

and the end of the show show...shows how much goodwill Art and Des have with celebs of all ages and shows. A much more enjoyable ending. I do think in recent years they have relied too much on singing so dropping the opening performance this week was a good decision

TVF Confessions

My turn
I liked the celeb idents on itv as there were so many different versions in garish bright sets and then we had people like Trevor McDonald in a much quieter subtle brick set. I always liked the blue and yellow block era too

The colour picking idents were really impressive. As others have mentioned the slick way in which the dot on the I would open up and then fall back into place seamlessly linking into another trailer or ident. I was also a fan of the last lot of

I've liked all ITV News presentation since 1999 - I used to like the spinning net globe and the general set. its a shame nobody ever made a recreation of that in the gallery. The theatre of news was impressive for its time and I liked the globe made up of blocks which would grow and shrink. Whilst the car park era set was...well like a car park I did like the hero panels which transitioned flawlessly into the studio making each headline sequence unique. The news at ten skyline looked stunning and was axed way too quickly

Even now I still don't like the new sky news HQ. We went from the Sky News centre which had a great sense of depth and 10+ presentation points to a small glass box consisting of a screen and a desk. I said at the time there isn't much they can do with it. You can't move around desks or add new screen to create new presentation points. I will admit the introduction of lighting made it look slightly better but when you consider how sexy the old Sky News centre was when they returned for the election to then go back to that was meh. I also used to like watching the presenters walking from the news wall, down the stairs and sometimes sprinting to the island before the voice over finished. We used to get jib sweeping shots of the studio and one time the camera crashed into 1 of the fins and you saw someone in the gallery put their hand over their head. .Overall Sky News presentation in the past was engaging and if you watch it for many hours as I do that is important as much as the news itself. No matter how many times you saw the old TOTH sequence it felt like an event which now is very lackluster. I have generally liked all sky news music over the years

Channel 4's last few sets of idents are just...weird. I much preferred the 4 which would start as random objects in a scene before forming up to show the full logo for a second before it broke up again

I find it irritating when people say BBC won't dare delay the start of strictly to show the Prime Minister's statement - really? the news is something that matters and affects everyone's lives. A dancing show starting 5 mins late is not a priority during a pandemic

This takes me on to another point when people say why do people watch news channels all the time well for me one thing I like is that you never know what is going to happen from 1 minute to the next. I can start watching 1 story and suddenly another one breaks and before I know it the rest of the day has past by. There is something exciting about watching a story break....develop...& conclude whether that be that day, week, month, year or decade. Whilst most news is generally bad it is the reality of the situation at that time in the world, some say its depressing but its real life, it matters much more than some trivial reality rubbish like Love Island

Good Morning Britain

Place your bets on how soon the announcement will come that he's joining GB News

As I said this morning I felt over the last couple of days that he was trying to get himself sacked and out of the contract with ITV. I think he knew the writing was on the wall and wanted to get out now so he can secure a new job elsewhere

Trevor Peacock (Vicar of Dibley) Dies

I loved his character in the show. You never no no no no no no how many times he will say no no no before yes. That scene where he tries to tell a joke and it takes forever brings a smile to my face every time I see it. His wife saying yes yes yes no was great too

and I was on deal or no deal i was down to 2 boxes I had £250,000 or 10p left...The banker offered me £100,000.... No no no no no Noel Edmonds asked me if I wanted to deal or no no no deal. I wanted to deal so I said no no no no no deal and for some reason of which I cannot fathom they thought I said no no no deal. Owen asks and what was in your box? 10p Sad
