Richard Crowley use to present the RTE main evening news back in the late 1980s, has been RTE's Middle East Correspondent from 2001 to 2007 and presented RTE's business tv programme earlier this year so he does has a fair bit of TV presenting under his belt!

RTE's current Europe Editor Sean Whelan is to become the station's new economics correspondent, the position that was vacated by George Lee who went into politics. Speculation in the papers suggests that sean will not be replaced in Europe due to the current financial constraints at the station, supposing Tony Connelly will man the fort in Europe for RTE.

A article in today's Irish Indo confirms Nuacht RTE's move to Galway. Nuacht RTE bulletin is going to be extended with a new time slot at 5.45PM. Today's edition of Nuacht RTE came from the studio in Baile na hAbhann, using the same backdrop 'fake newsroom' as the RTE studio. The giveaway been the desk, which isnt illuminated like the RTE one and the Laptop with a HP logo. Una O'Hagan also did News for the Deaf which is typically read by the Irish newscaster as Nuacht is on before it. Nuacht RTE must have finally moved to Galway
