It really is remarkable how much Sky News has improved since last Wednesday, there is a feeling of a real buzz on screen that has been missing for a long time. If they are consistent with this I can see great things to come for SN.

I am waiting for them to bodge it up, like changing things, particualy the newswall background to another fake background. Just got a feeling. Hope not though!

I think the actual graphics now suit the new studio, and love the new variation of the virtual space background on the newswall. A good job of originally a bad idea.

Its GMTV now isn't it, with the London Skyline, Blue to Yellow background?

That is nasty. Much worse than the atrium. I might look better at night, but thats how the Evening News is going to look during the Summer. The only thing that is improved is the opening, much cleaner and nicer. Studio design appalling.

ITV News seemed to produce much nicer CSO backgrounds before 2004 when they used it as their full studio.

Steve looked very unhappy tonight. But then you would when you are retaining a regional job aswell as a national one at weekends, unlike Westcountry's hosts who won't have one job.

Libby Weiner (former Political Correspondent) has just filed a report from Australia I think - it was their lead story, when they mentioned she was leaving in late 2008 they said she would report occasionally.

She also reported a few weeks back from Australia about the assacination of the British Queen.

Er... attempted assassination of the Queen, surely?

Some (minor) problems with the weekend bulletin; the graphic behind Steve Scott remained the same for a different story before it was changed somewhat abruptly. Also during the headline recap near the end of the programme he read from his papers - presume the autocue failed. Also no credits or ITN endcap during the closing sequence.

Plus he asked Harry Smith a question, he had already answered and ended the first live report early.

First ITV Weekend News bulletin I watched for ages, how its changed! Very poor!

I wonder if the odd couple of sitting down opening sequences they've done were tests for a mini-revamp? I know they test things off screen but perhaps they did it once or twice on air to see if any feedback was given from 'us' types?

Interesting about a new look, although I wouldn't hold my breath for it being anything drastic or else we would have heard by now. I'd also make a guess and say it will first appear during the lunchtime bulletin first because technically the morning bulletin is the last bulletin of the day (9.25am-5.59am).

I hope the atrium and blue stays, but the rest of the studio looks different. It should do a Sky and add more grey or white and also jazz it up a bit.

Can I just say the weather team are doing a fantastic job at the moment.

Particularly Lucy, Denise, Isobel and of course, Francis.

So good to see more of them on the channel during this cold and snowy weather. It would be nice if there was a dedicated weather slot because honestly any of them could pull it off well I think, particularly Isobel.

As for a timeslot - perhaps Fridays 7:30?

How about Jo Wheeler... She done a good backstage interview on Friday on Sky News Active. Did she do a double shift of Friday? I thought she on in the morning then late evening?

Im not too in the know about this, but can all floor cameras move remotley, including the plasma's thats on the studio floor with the yellow wires?

I ask this, because one show, cameras are all on one side and by the next show, they are at the other side?

What are the controls like to move the camera? Buttons or stick?

Plus I wouldn't like to get the electic bill for the new look Sky News Centre!
