If you’re not interested then don't watch it!

Watched BBCP yesterday because of 1970 election and wondered why there are no spoken announcements? But, for the record, the graphics are great!

And finally (deep breath) Eddie Mair, He presented Newsnight once - Simply put why is he not still there?

According to DigiGuide, Eddie Mair is doing Newsnight tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday; and for a couple of nights next week too. Should be a fantastic watch.

Yes it was a good watch last night, i am looking foward to tonight, But when you reach the dizzy heights of Newsnight, I dont think there is anywhere else to go for him in BBC News.

I mean the 1,6,10 will be a bit stale for his talents, N24? World? maybee but I think he would be lost in Obscurity.

Now a reporters role could be good, step forward the new political editor Eddie Mair, of course that wont happen now, but one day?!

It would be good to see him present Daily Pollitics or This Week.
Nice to see some talent comming from within for a change.

Eddie Mair on the up?

scottish posted:
Yes, Eddie probably presented Newsnight about 4-5 times last year, and alongside Martha Kearney and Jon Sopel is the chief relief presenter if neither Jeremy, Gavin or Kirsty is available. From past experience, Eddie has a lot of fans on this forum, and while it is widely assumed that he is going on to bigger and better things, it is unknown whether they will be on radio and tv. But I for one would love to see him presenting the Six O'Clock News or Breakfast.

Breakfast could be good, though I reckon that he may be snapped up by Sky or ITV before long, he made news on BBC Three watchable and engaging.

Meridian TV/BBC South East

Full Name? her Parents must of been on LSD when they thought of a name for her, mind you on many forms that you fill in you could save time and leave the name bit blank.

Back to MT
great South edition tonight, cock up with the camera angles for the weather chat, and the report on the yatchs did not come so we had a extended weather chat with the 'smooth' Martyn Davis.

Carolyn, Fred, Belvers and the 'smooth housewives favorite' presided tonight.

It was ditched in the "April revolution", just three months ago, when News Extra and additional editions (well - additional repeats Rolling Eyes ) of WBR were introduced.

CARLTON X-MAS Ident

Hello does anybody have the Carlton Christmas Ident for Bright Drama?

It was similar to the 2001-2002 XMAS Ident serious/news blue, but was red with more pacey music.

It was on TVHome but I never saved a copy when it closed down, Tv-Ark has a link for the ident but it links to the wrong one,I just need that one ident to complete the set.

BTW the same ident was used at XMAS 1999 but it was 2000 or 2001 I think that they updated the music to make more festive than before
In other words the newer version music to this ident

London bombings - TV news coverage

chromakey123 posted:
I've been thinking about this for a while... and finally decided to say it!

Why do some forum members think it important to relay news stories here...
This is a media savvy world, we all monitor news stories, watch tv, buy papers, stream webfeeds etc etc etc...
I don't come to the forum just to read a long list of today's news stories... I want to take part in a discussion about how TV channels are presenting the news...
It's fine when it is in the context of discussing how a channel is reporting something, highlighting how channels differ in their coverage of the same story, or even the time differences between news channels on racing to cover the same flash.
But simply writing: Sky News say arrests... or "Plenty of news around today" is just plain stupid.
This is a "Television news presentation" discussion forum.

I suspect its people wanting to appear popular by breaking some news.

To Presentaion....Why Does Sky News always flash up the Breaking News strap long after the News seems to have broken?
