I think with that peculiar monotone/squeaky delivery he's the viewers' worst nightmare as well
BBC News: Presenters & Rotas
We truly are using the relief presenters to the max... so far today we've had
06:00 - 09:00 Chris Hollins + Naga Munchetty
09:00 - 13:00 Jon Kay
13:00 - ??
? Roger Johnson
Also, Roger Johnson, is constantly moving, and he must be a camera-mans worst nightmare!

Agreed. It was an interesting piece of TV but- despite Sky News's excitement- it says absolutely nothing about computer stores in general.

What are Sky News playing at
Current news strap reads
When it should read ...
Sky News investigation finds a repair shop illegally access ed personal data from our computer
While I'm not defending the actions of the people in the computer shop, that strap line does not reflect what the Sky News investigation found, they presented no proof that it was standard practice in that shop, if they tried it in more than one shop, if it happened in any other shops... just this one occasion where it happened.

I do find GMTV's coverage of events south and north of the border almost non-existent
GMTV (1993 - 2010)
Was very disappointed to note GMTV didn't report on the three fisherman who died off Ardnamurchan Point yesterday. It was reported by the BBC as one of their main stories this morning. Although I do find GMTV's network coverage of events north of the border almost non-existent.

The NEW Central West and BBC Midlands thread
Westy- not very gentlemanly comments about Mollie there. What has she done to upset you (apart from ignoring all your daily texts?)

er...I think they're having what's known as a 'joke'. Do you really think the presenters don't understand that it's a set?

MJ's death is the biggest news story for several years- and many viewers probably didn't know about it till Friday morning. GMTV gets its priorities wrong a lot of the time, but on Friday their coverage was good. (The flying home of the hostages' bodies would have only been a 20 sec news story anyway- what more is there to say about it?)
On another note, Emma Crosby should now be worried about Carla Romano and how at ease she is on the sofa
GMTV (1993 - 2010)
I thought GMTV Michael Jackson coverage was horrific. The whole show from 6 till 9.25 was purely allocated to covering the death of MJ. There was plenty of other news including the flying home of the British hostages and Farah Fawcett's death. Completely inappropriate in my eyes. It just shows that bad habits die hard and GMTV is still as celebrity endorsed as it was a few years ago. I thought the show turned a corner in 2009. I know some people want Michael Jackson shoved down their throats all day but what about people who don't?

How can the GMTV bosses agree and sign off the new music and then ditch it before ever using it? It's just unbelievable. An utter shambles.

It feels repetitive cos there's zero depth to the coverage.
Note to GMTV: Repeating the same news does not make your programme more "newsy". It just makes it more repetitive.

OK so I've watched GMTV for the past 3 days in the 6.00 to 7.00am slot and I have to say - they have ruined GMTV.
I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT GAZA EVERY 2 MINUTES. It's literally on a cycle of News bulletin, Gaza, Weather update, News bulletin, Gaza, News update, Weather, Front pages, Gaza, Gaza.
OK, so it's quite big news but it's as if nothing else is happening in the World.
I'll be turning off if it carries on like this (i.e. talking endlessly about the main news story of the day and nothing else).
I think the graphics are quite harsh too, especially for that time in the morning.
