Broadcasting House, Salford Quays & TVC

Reminded me of the titles for House of Cards and if you play the theme in a new tab on YouTube at the same time it fits almost perfectly!

BBC News Channel General Discussion

A slight change during the camera swoop at 10 tonight, a zoom onto Huw on the catwalk! While swooping across the studio, no idea whether it was planned or not

BBC National/News Channel from New Broadcasting House

I think there are a lot of valid points here. In fact, things are getting a bit stale. I think we are in drastic need of a refresh, maybe even new sets. Hell, lets go the whole hog and move to a new building.

Hardtalk comes from Studio A, the virtual studio. The 'set' that you can see is entirely virtual, based on TC7.

Does anyone know what studio the News update for the Andrew Marr Show is in.

It's from Salford.

And they're still using the old backdrop. Mind you, it would be misleading to use the newsroom backdrop when that's not where they are..

I don't think it would be misleading - most people don't care where a bulletin is physically located. Keeping the backdrops the same should be important from a brand / recognition perspective though.

Mind you, it's only on screen for 5 mins a week, I cant imagine anyone is too bothered.

Of course they have the right idea when it comes to news studio design.

I've never really got US set or graphic design. Often feels a bit faux, OTT and contrived.

Welcome to the US of A my friend. Yeeeehawww!

The Weather Thread

I usually really like the way the Schaff delivers the weather, but since the move to BH and the use of big screens over CSO he seems to spend more and more time facing the screen than he does the camera.
