BBC loses Great British Bake Off

Remember when there was some doubt over Paul's position a few years ago after the revelations over his personal life? As I understand it Mary told producers that if he was forced out then she would follow. I hope he returns that loyalty.

the only chance Bake Off now has on C4 is being able to stamp a new brand through a totally new team - having Paul as a legacy hangover would leave it half in the old world, half in the new - not really knowing what it's identity is.

Greatest News Themes of All Time

msim posted:
It has to be the 1989-1993 Breakfast News titles. The perfect combination of an epic theme (updated from 1986 Breakfast Time) and amazing visuals - the way that map becomes a C that circles the globe and become a giant 'BBC' just as the theme begins to peak!

I've said this before but I love that you can hear elements of that original Breakfast Time theme in today's Breakfast theme

A glass box!

The BBC made their studio bomb proof.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2261615/BBC-bunker-News-studios-built-bomb-proof-room-protect-suicide-attacks.html

Im still not convinced by the box, but will give it a chance.

To be honest I'm not so sure how good the BBC's bomb proof studio E would be considering it's right below the lobby.

I'm no explosives expert but the energy for explosions follows the path of least resistance. Unless you drilled a hole in the lobby floor and packed it with explosives the majority of a blast in the lobby would go upwards and outwards rather than downwards. It wouldn't be very pleasant for anyone in the studio but they would probably be safe.

I hope we never get to find out.

Noel's House Party

Interestingly I live in Woking, work in Bracknell and do have cruise control so add that to the list of things that Clarkson and I disagree about...
