Is it me or have Joan Cummins & Lindsey Doyle disappeared off screen?


Lindsey Doyle is still reporting for MT but the few times I've seen Joan Cummins recently has been over the shoulder of the newsreader when she was in the newsroom.

Is it only me or does anyone else think Liz Copper and Lindsey are similar looking ?

Sounds good to me. Inside Out would be perfect show for Jo if things do not go well for 'Ash' . What a turn around that would turn out to be with Jo on in the west and Marie Ashby in the East for the BBC. ITV local news will spinning in it's grave.

ITV wants to axe some regional news services

I saw the girls appearance on the opt out and she did quite well at her one attempt at being a news reader. I did record her but alas did not catch her name.

The local opt outs appear to have finished on Westcountry news now.

New look five news at 7

I wasn't impressed with the 5 News today. They managed to miss an important part of the inauguration even though it was during the show. Rolling Eyes numpties.

Sorry to hear of cutbacks and redundancies. Are five planning to pay less for the contract or are sky just offering less 'bang for the buck' now compared to what they once promised in '05.

I cannot enthuse about 5news as I did a few years back . Despite their efforts the show lacks the impact of it's better times with ITN. I find it annoying that if they are prepared to make cutbacks , why not chop off one presenter whose costs are excessive and then save half a dozen jobs elsewhere. Cool

5 news has tended towards the minimalist in recent years but if they lose any more reporters it's going to be very threadbare indeed.

The Weather Thread

Anna Church is doing the weather for Central today. This is the first time I've seen her on there this year.

What I also wanted to say was Sara Thornton has now moved to Look North ( NE ) and is filling the gap left by Trai Anfield who is away. So who does that leave as the team of weather presenters on Anglia ?

Looks like things are already changing in the Westcountry as Mark Tyler is on The West Tonight when he is the main sports presenter on Westcountry Live.


Nothing significant of any changes seen so far apart from a couple of the familiar reporters havn't been around on Westcountry this year. Not long to go. Sad

CNN Today HK is a mess, there's someone different every hour, I don't get to see it often couse it's middle of night here, I only see first hour which is usually done by Pauline , before her there was Kaushel Rolling Eyes , they are all replacements till Kristie comes back in January.

I hope they bring back 2 anchors for HK edition again, single anchored morning shows don't work well.

Kirstie has returned this week. It would be an improvement if they could limit the number of anchors on CNN Today from HK back to 3 or 4 as before.
