The Masked Singer UK...2021

Did anybody else feel that the show was dragged out for 90 minutes. Could've easily filled an hour, too many adverts, stupid competition that ruins every ITV "live" show.

Absolutely do not miss Ken, he was so annoying last year so having Mo on the panel was a nice refresh. Joel's jokes were getting rather annoying too.

Other than that, good show. Definitely think Sausage is Billie Piper because of the reference in the VT of "Because We Want To".

I find this quite tedious, to be honest - 'as long as they're doing it for charity, it doesn't matter if the song is awful'. No, it does, that's not an excuse. And about the whole 'sticking it to the music industry' thing - well, this is just as boring as when all the X Factor winners would get to number one, only the songs are somehow less funny than they were back then.

The entire chart needs a rethink to be honest - streams have pretty much killed it dead, to the point where rules like ACR (Accelerated Chart Ratio, ie. the Sheeran rule) are mandated in order to make it more exciting.

I have to agree with your comments about LadBaby and the charts. I find it tedious that they're pretty much guaranteed the Christmas Number 1 again this year.

I have streamed the song once as I actually hadn't heard it - it's good enough and catchy enough. However, my opinion on LB is this. They make enough money from their videos on YouTube and Facebook, brand endorsements etc - they should've saved the bother of recording a song and just donated a lump sum of their earnings (or sausage rolls) to the charity instead. This is just PR for them as usual whether they're genuine or not.

Nothing new there, I remember when it was wall to wall Sister Sister, Moesha and Sabrina.

Oh absolutely, except in those days we didn’t have digital spin offs and everything was on one channel so you did get the variety of toons, live action and pre-school stuff during the day. I remember the “Head to Head” days where you could vote for your favourite show to air when Nick had in-vision continuity

Yeah, the reason why cause they're showing nothing but either Peppa Pig or PAW Patrol which are 2 two of their biggest shows. The main channel should cut down on the times they air the both shows. Nicktoons are the same with SpongeBob, The Loud House and Horrid Henry.


The whole Nickelodeon network relies so much on their most popular shows, not that I'm complaining too much as I do enjoy Victorious and iCarly on Nick, my daughter enjoys Paw Patrol, Peppa and Blue's Clues on Nick Jr and my son enjoys Spongebob, Horrid Henry & The Loud House on Toons.

How to run a channel on the cheap with very little effort? Nick Jr Too / Peppa / Paw. Laughing

I think the BBC News logo at the end should zoom out to the lower thirds where they'd normally have the channel DOG and the headline banner.

TV Breakdown Appreciation Thread

There appeared to be a breakdown on Drama Channel today at the end of the programme preceding EastEnders. Test Card with Tone and SES on screen before going to a Drama breakdown slide. Looks like the Drama D.O.G. stayed on screen.

BBC THREE versus BBC SCOTLAND

With regards to BBC Three returning as a linear channel, is it needed? I think the strong programmes for Three before it moved to an "online only" portal were the Seth McFarlane imports and the EastEnders repeat. As a former viewer I really enjoyed the imports and also 60 seconds in between programmes and think there could be room for a similar "The Nine" programme on Three.

Would 16-34 year olds return to watching BBC Three with the content currently on offer?

Poor choice of font to use and colour too IMO. I definitely would've kept all text white like they do with 80s & 90s. How is it that 80s' GFX set look a lot cleaner than the other two though.

Spoke too soon - Trace Vault has programme titles onscreen again now too.


I have noticed this, even during non-music programming. Watching an episode of Clueless on Sunday they put up "Clueless S03" on screen although the font they use made it look like it said 503 at first glance.

The Now / Clubland channels are truly awful when it comes to clutter though. Damn.

TV station logos that have stood the test of time

The original e4 logo lasted for for 17yrs with hardly any change to it.

It's still a much better logo than the current e4 logo.

The current E4 logo just doesn't work for me although it is clever how Channel 4 have adopted all of their sister brands in to the 4 Logo - I think 4Music and Film 4 are the best out of all of them though.
