Sky News: Presentation Discussion

Only a mock up of course but nonetheless it looks superb, wonder how long it will take to build?

I suspect if they could start the UK studio from scratch they might come up with something similar to this, it seems a lot more practical and flexible than the Osterley set.

There must be a lot of money behind this project because it is going to be very, very challenging to have an impact on a fairly crowded market place in the MENA region.

There is a bit more detail on the channels website,

Not entirely sure why but Kay Burley is live in Washington DC.

Edit: She is interviewing Hillary Clinton later.

Sky News: Presentation Discussion

Adam Boulton making and flipping pancakes in the Millbank studio's rather fancy looking kitchen made for rather bizarre viewing!

Saif Al Islam Gadaffi Captured

Alex Crawford's first video report from Zawiyah is quite extraordinary.

Included in it is shocking footage of a man arriving at the hospital with an unexploded anti-tank grenade in embedded in his leg.

Quote:
There was a Sky News management/staff Q&A this lunchtime. Never seen so many of my colleagues in one room without free booze being present.

Sky News could be sold by Murdoch

Fascinating stuff, I think it may actually be good for Sky News in the long run.

While the BSkyB news contract will make Sky News a more attractive proposition for buyers I am still not sure who would be interested and would certainly fear a takeover from the likes of Richard Desmond (although that may also face plurality issues).

Perhaps at a long shot the Abu Dhabi consortium whom they are launching Sky News Arabia with might be interested?

Sky News: Presentation Discussion

Sky currently airing Lisa Holland's interview with Saif Gaddafi. Sky's coverage continuing to impress, their best coverage of a foreign story in a long while.

Sky News: Presentation Discussion

Today's Live at 5 was one of the best I have seen in a very long while. Truly superb coverage of the Libya crisis with great depth of reporting and good guests. As has been mentioned on here before Andrew Wilson leads the line very well when out on location.

Saif Al Islam Gadaffi Captured

Impressive to see Sky's report from Tobruk/Benghazi was recorded in HD.
