It certainly does, and good to see sky on top form with the PBR today really good an refreshing coverage. Intersting to see Anna Jones on today oing to Budget, I would have thought that this was more Julie's territory though.

Prehaps she's gone out of favour?

EDIT: Anna is still great though

Re: the plan - notice how the Five News studio and offices are pretty much as far away from each other as they could be!

Is the Sunrise balcony the Deli Bar then?

Thats what I thought but I wasn't actually. I've looked at a few pictures and it would seem to fit i.e. it sticks out a bit.

This is just a guess, but it could have been a cover name whilst studios were being built in order to keep tabs on locations and interior designs.

That's a possibility, in the case of the Washington Office in particular they'd want to keep the ownership quiet. But now it's on air it's not really something they can disguise.

Incidently 'Jazeera' is arabic for 'Penninsula'

My partner reliably informs me that Aljazeera does mean 'Penninsula' or 'The Island' in arabic (she's from Doha). I know a bit 'Ada'tu tareeqi' and the likes mainly, which actually means - 'Help I'm lost', and 'Hal tatakallamu alloghah alenjleziah' which means 'Do you speak English?' - a personal favourite of mine.

I could see the idea of a kind of alias especially an english sounding one would help, especially with all the kind of negative bias surrounding the channel. And the name does hold a relevance.

Didn't mean ritual in the torture sense!! I think Kay is quite good, actually.

Only joking...

By the way - a minor piece of trvia, I found the viewing figures for the transatlantic terror plot back in July? or August. Sky absolutely hammered the BBC with 540,000 viewers to 270,000ish.

Just goes to prove they've still got it.

Kay Burley will - NO DOUBT - present Sunrise on 25th December!!! Annual ritual.

I actually quite like that - you would never get the big guns of the bbc presenting on christmas morning - regardless of her motives.I think though, that a lot of ordinary viewers without any kind of journalistic insight actually do quite like her, remember the fact that her Lunchtime Live has presented one of the few areas in a rise in audience figures mut speak for something.

I sat down and watched sunrise this morning - and the big table really doesn't look to bad - on the wide shots. It actually looked really ood with four people round it just now as the Ashes 2nd test result came through.

EDIT: I like the way you use ritual, as if it some kind of decadent torture.

What did Martin do on his own last year then? I can't remember, but I know that he does do this quite a lot over christmas - or at least he used to. If anybody know's I'll be interested.

It was actually really nice tonight on Sky news with Martin Stanford. Looked really classy and sophisticated as opposed to having that 'The Pulse' style backdrop.
