She also retweeted Colin Brazier recently who said it felt like 'the Avengers Assembling' for GB News. It feels inevitable at this point.

The screens look SO MUCH BETTER. Like night and day. It had been really distracting to me previously.
Indeed, here are a couple of before and after shots for comparison...
Now they've done that, maybe they can work on turning down the saturation... the orange-ness of the Palace of Westminster is just too much and looks awful in my opinion. I understand entirely it's meant to show it at 'sunrise', but it looks a bit silly at 1 o'clock in the afternoon.

Niall back in Millbank at 0830 after an excursion to the newsroom for the first 1.5 hours. The screens in the studio look better today, seems like the diffusion has been removed?

…and finally
Would like to echo my thanks to Asa - I’ve been here from the very start, back when TV Home was just TV Home.. it’s amazing to think I have grown up using this forum. I don’t post as much as I used to but I still check out what’s going on almost every day. Will be sorely missed!

Not sure why Will.i.am is being received as an odd choice - famously a lover of technology, which this show embraces, and a judge on The Voice UK hosted by the same presenter - it’s hardly like someone pretending to be Britney Spears or Brad Pitt.Last edited by jay on 25 February 2021 12:00am

I can already see Family Guy, American Dad and Futurama in the search - that’s me sorted for the next few weeks!

Disney+ UK Launch Date Confirmed
Lots of the Star content is now starting to appear before tomorrow's launch. The tab isn't there yet but many of the series and movies can be found in the search.

The release isn't until May but I imagine further delays may start to disrupt the rest of the MCU phase 4 plans..

Disney+ UK Launch Date Confirmed
I wonder if the next film to receive the Premier Access treatment will be Black Widow from the Marvel stable - it's already been delayed a year and I imagine at some point soon they're going to have to make a call on whether they continue to delay it or just bite the bullet. The release isn't until May but I imagine further delays may start to disrupt the rest of the MCU phase 4 plans..

TLS studio 2. It did go on ...and on.
It was Studio 1 actually.. I worked on it. The pilot was not for broadcast and involved the acts being sat in the audience and called down to perform a la Price Is Right..

The pilot for BGT is incredibly cheap looking compared to how it eventually looked.

Kay Burley off air for 6 months
Interesting snippet in today's Popbitch regarding the whole saga.. Although a gossip newsletter it tends to have some rather connected informants.. make of it what you will:Quote:
>> Kay/GB? <<
Media rumours of 4D chess
Coronavirus conspiracies are ten-a-penny on the internet, but here's one we found quite interesting. There's been a bunch of "Kay Burley's future at Sky News in doubt" stories in the press this last week after she was taken off-air by bosses for breaching Covid rules on her 60th birthday. Why would a seasoned reporter like Kay jeopardise her career over something so foolish? Well, there's some growing whispers that it might not have been quite so stupid after all.
Subject to Ofcom approval, there's a new TV news station due to launch next year. One that's headed up by some old friends of Kay's. Unfortunately for her, she's currently under contract with NBC Comcast. These sorts of contracts, out of necessity, offer very little in the way of wiggle room for employees who want to walk – especially if they're wanting to walk right into the arms of a rival.
Unless she gets let go, of course. In which case, after a certain period (say, six months?) she'd be free to maybe offer her services elsewhere... GB News, perhaps?

I was hoping and thinking the same, but the slide doesn't include the UK sadly. I was trying to upload a screenshot of the slide but I can't seem to get the uploader to work - here's the link to them instead, the one I'm referencing is Slide 31: https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/app/uploads/2020/12/Disney-Investor-Day-2020-Slides-121020.pdf
The use of ‘Continental Europe’ was rather telling to be honest - as well as the graphics omitting us from the map!
One issue with the U.K. is that Disney licensed Sky the 20th Century pay tv window earlier this year when they struck the D+ deal and the BBC have their deal with multi-year deal with FX (so would be, depending on release date, the eventual home for the new Alien series) - the lack of them doesn’t prevent them launching it but they are fairly big omissions for the Star platform.

The fact sheet does mentioned a U.K. price increase so perhaps we’ll see it in some fashion outside of certain first window content.
Good news! It seems the writer of this article has had it confirmed by Disney that Star WILL launch in the UK on 23 Feb - judging by his replies to comments underneath the article who are similarly confused by Disney's presentation yesterday:

Wouldn’t we fall under Europe? I know not part of EU but we are part of the European continent?
