Another interesting one to point out is this- the first episode of 1996, notable for introducing the short lived "jazzed up" clock music that was gone very quickly



Also new opening titles- yet the set is still adorned with the old logo! Not sure when they finally updated it- there's another episode on YouTube from a couple of weeks into the series which still had the old logo all over the set, though they had finally changed it by the quarter finals.

Is the Tumblr phenomenon because it's genuinely good, or is it like the My Little Pony thing which started as people on 4chan ironically taking the piss because of how bad it was, but somehow people took them seriously?

Don't tell a Brony that My Little Pony is infantile, they'll get angry at you and insist it's as mature and grown up as Futurama. I've got first hand experience of it

There's the bit at the very end where they had the audience singing to the music, which IIRC was spliced into the House Party episode as if they'd done it at the end of one of the rounds.

Not suprising the thing's being run as if it's an actual episode really seeing as Richard was being led to believe that's what it was. It's at the point they could actually have edited it and ran it as an episode, bar the lack of end credits (as the game was revealed by that point).

I can see them ditching the films and just sticking to using idents based around the blocks after a while.

Isn't it funny how Eric Pollard went round trashing the shop with a sledgehammer today, but the fridge full of McCain products is untouched?

BBC cuts jobs / Charter renewal

Am I the only one who thinks BBC Radio (1 & 2 at least) are dire? Not that commercial radio is much better, but you at least hear a decent amount of music on there. Radio 2 isn't quite as bad as Radio 1, but Radio 1 certainly just seems to be endless banal waffle, with an occasional song thrown in. I always cringe whenever I have to listen to it.
