BBC World [soon to be BBC World News]

Where is 'World's' main studio (N9) located relative to 'News 24's' studio N8 in Television Centre? Are they in the same floor? Howabout the set used for World Business Report, Sport Today and World News Today? If it's a separate studio, what name is given to it?

WBR and Sport Today's set is just right IN FRONT of the main desk.

EDIT: Damo, you're right! There are more versions of WNT coming. But who'll be the anchors (aside from George Alagiah and Zeinab Badawi)? Nik Gowing and Jonathan Charles? Or maybe someone else will front any of these 2 bulletins? Scratch Head

Nik Gowing will present the 4pm edition which launches at the end of the month. The 3am one based at the US will be a three-way between Washington (Philippa Thomas), London (Overnight presenter) and the Singapore business bureau. That will launch in September.

BBC One to Trial Evening News Summary

Surely if they do national and regional headlines, the regional presenter may as well just do it all?

Moira Stuart - Dropped?

looknorth posted:
the sunday AM /politics slot was just reading they was no interviews its not as if louise/suzannah do any preperation as they leave breakfast at ten to nine only 15 minutes before the news comes on air so how can they in such short time.
moira did it just as well as them.

Although presumably Louise and Susanna are prepared for it...after all they have just presented a three hour news programme including numerous interviews!

Moira Stuart - Dropped?

Brekkie Boy posted:
Let's put this into perspective - a 5 minute slot once a week was never going to be a long term arrangement.

Moira's days were numbered when she was dumped from Breakfast. For a short time she did do some weekend bulletins, but seems to have been dumped from that.

Moira though was really dropped way back in 1999 - don't think apart from the recent weekend editions, she's ever hosted a 1, 6 or 9/10 since then!

Indeed and it could be argued that it was a waste of time bringing her in for her Sunday shift as it was when you can have one of the Breakfast presenters do the Sunday AM bulletins and Tim or whoever is on News 24 in the afternoon doing The Politics Show update (as is happening now and did happen before Moira started doing that shift)

Does anyone know if Sian Williams is going to become a regular face of the six again or if she's now just sticking to Breakfast.

She's on the Six tonight...

What happened to TV Newsroom?

No disrespect, but its no easy feat to give a complex site like two I can name with loads of pages and other content a nice new look without it taking a long time.

And we haven't got loads of pages and other content?

Work that has been going on since before october last year, will finally be unveiled...

At least it will be in a complete state unlike certain other sites where work has been going on a lot longer and they are still not running at full capacity... Wink

BBC News 24

Moz posted:
So is it true that Joanna has replaced Emily, or is it just part of the new BBC News presenter flexibility? If it's true, what's Emily gonna be doing?

Emily is now just doing Newsnight, News 24 and the National bulletins as and when...

RE Nicholas, he's going to be mainly doing weekend slots but will cover during the week too...

Tv ark: Relaunch and beyond

Couldn't they at least put up the Whats New page so you can actually see when they add something?

I can't imagine her on N24.

Why not - she used to be one of Sky News' main presenters?

As I say, it was just meant to be part of better integration between bulletins and a way of getting more use out of the national presenters. It will only happen on an ad-hoc basis though...

I don't think she would be seen dead on N24, to be honest.

She already has been on there and is supposed to be appearing, along with Sophie Raworth, on a regular basis...

Ooo...substituting for Jon and Louise's show perhaps then?

Well it was all supposed to be part of better integration between BBC One bulletins and BBC News 24 wasn't it?

AFAIK Sophie has appeared about 4 times in Louise's place and Natasha covered twice for Jane Hill in one week...It obviously wont happen that often just when there short probably...
