EDIT: Whoops, sorry missed that this was discussed a bit above. Although this is now officially a separate service to That's.
Local TV
Made have launched Manchester TV on channel 99 on the Manchester mux. Maybe to rival That's Manchester but I reckon this adds more fuel to the fire of the suggestion in the Newsroom thread of some of the local channels being used as an outlet for the upcoming Murdoch News UK channel. Quite how they'd be making any money out of a new Manchester service otherwise is beyond me.Manchester TV launches tomorrow on Freeview channel 99 for viewers in the Greater Manchester area.

The local channel, operated by the company that runs the former Made TV local channels goes head to head with That's TV Manchester.

The Chase | Beat the Chasers
Am I right in saying there's still another series of this with an audience from the first batch recorded? I wonder if they're saving those ones for when restrictions are eased and audiences are allowed back into venues so they've got a 'normal' looking series to show straight away.

Dplay
Does anyone else have awful issues with the iOS app not correctly saving where you last finished a programme (I always cast to Chromecast)? A lot of the time I'll click resume and it will start somewhere completely different earlier on in the episode or it will say the next episode is one I've already watched. I've tried reinstalling the app and contacted Discovery+ directly who to be fair were very good at responding to this and a number of other complaints and suggestions, but the problem still persists. It's driving me mad and I just want to watch my 90 Day Fiance dross in peace.

The Brexit Effect
ITV have done the same so I assume they're not permitted.ITV Hub+ has now disabled EU access, so when you are allowed to go on holiday abroad, you won't be able to access the full service.

Prior to ITV Hub+ becoming available, ITV operated a service called ITV Essentials, which allowed viewers to watch some programmes abroad...

I wonder what made them pick this particular show to air, as my friend said it really did feel like BBC2 have just completely run out of things to show!
Christmas TV 2020
Did anyone spot an ancient repeat of Angus Deayton's Before The Were Famous last night on BBC2? I think I was a bit too young when this show was first on as I was completely unaware that this was a studio-based show with an audience and an on location pre-titles sketch that added nothing to the show - two things you'd never get on an equivalent version of the show today. They constantly had the audience laughing over clips that weren't funny, seemingly to justify having the audience there.I wonder what made them pick this particular show to air, as my friend said it really did feel like BBC2 have just completely run out of things to show!

ITV News
Ok this is really off topic now but I'm not going to start a TV cafe thread! Does anyone know if (in normal times) the Channel 4 Horseferry Road cafe is accessible to the public? It's behind reception but not gated off like the routes to the offices. There's a publicly accessible garden at the back on their property and it would certainly be on brand to allow the public inside.

Only saw the last 20 minutes of the Paddy thing but there was something weirdly Children in Need regional opt feeling about it.

There was also some sort of light show at Tower Bridge last night, not sure if it's happening tonight as well.
There's some big YouTube event tonight that is happening in London and a few other cities worldwide so that could well involve one of these light shows.
Christmas TV 2020
Perhaps it's worth mentioning tonight - BBC One will be live over midnight for *something* tonight, though they've been cagey about what.
On a completely unrelated note, the Thames around the Greenwich Peninsula and the airspace above are both closed tonight due to the flying of several hundred drones.

Some sort of Lambie-Nairn entrance exam would be a great way of gaining TV Forum membership actually to sort out the riffraff!
Martin Lambie-Nairn has died
Can only echo what's already been said. A true legend of TV design and a name that I really came to know and love over almost two decades of browsing here and TV Ark and the like. Some sort of Lambie-Nairn entrance exam would be a great way of gaining TV Forum membership actually to sort out the riffraff!
