Sky's Branding

Yes I prefer the 3D style introduced by Sky Sports in 2014 that was extended to all channels creating consistency across the network until Nomad's Sky Sports rebrand came along and had to be different! How many more times are they going to change their boxed logo design? They are almost back to the original Sky Sports boxed logo which had no gradients or 3D effect.

I was pleasantly surprised that Sky Atlantic VIP uses its own logo on its idents. I think it is a shame Sky are moving towards flatter logos, either have 3D logos or go completely flat! I think all the entertainment channels and Sky Cinema look great at the moment. You can even see in the Sky Sports idents that the gradient section of the logo is a transparent object that floats in front of the logo and moves across the channel name on the right with a sharp edge visible when the logo is forming. FOX:

All the regular junctions I have recorded recently are now using the new idents. It seems there are four them and each version has two stings. Coverage of Irish sports channel Eir Sport 1 has been added to Presentation Archive. The channel was previously known as Setanta Sports until July 2016. Coverage of Eir Sport 2 (Premier Sports), BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2, BT Sport 3 and BT Sport ESPN will be added to the site soon.

On Thursday the 4th of May 2017 History UK & Ireland introduced the new international History Channel branding. The new look was created by DixonBaxi and launched in the USA back in January. The new CGI idents are very impressive IMO.

The Late Late Gay Byrne Irish Television Thread

A third TV3 ident has been introduced recently. The new ident features the town of Cobh in County Cork. Video available on Presentation Archive: TV3: 2017 .

Not sure about these idents, the soundtracks are very poor and with the lack of variety, the package seems tired after being introduced just a couple of months ago. It is definitely an improvement on the previous neon 3 in a studio branding introduced in 2015.

MTV Music: 2017 Idents & Presentation
On Wednesday 5 April 2017, MTV Music and its sister channels were rebranded. New full color logos were introduced with each channels logo and presentation based around a unique color pallet.

The Middle idents have only been airing before new episodes. So far there has been a Kitchen and Sitting Room versions.

One year ago today TERN (Television Entertainment Reality Network) launched its factual entertainment channel 'Insight' in the UK and Ireland. It is the world's first linear tv 4K factual brand. Unfortunately, the UK and Ireland territory does not yet have a 4K version, instead broadcasting in HD on Sky channel 279. I have added coverage of the channels creative and professionally executed idents and presentation. The channel does not use continuity announcers, instead it plays a regular ident, a menu, followed by a programme ident to introduce its programming. The channel also makes use of frequent in-programme graphics. The presentation is split across three different pages,
