BBC News - General

It's controversial but there is always the option to scroll down past the rota comments! Yea I know this might be difficult for people but it takes a lot less effort than typing a further comment to moan about them! Laughing

Apologies if this has been mentioned, but why do I hear phrases like, 'thanks for joining us here on News 24' more and more? Is it really necessary?

I suppose it's because N24 is a channel that people flick onto now and again and don't watch all day so it's nice to be invited in to what's happening. It also gives them permission to repeat the headlines they visited 15 mins beforehand. Just my thoughts!

New BBC World Service audio identity

I have never listened to BBC World Service so don't know how these have changed but the "three stabs" bit is fairly similar to some of the jingles used on Radio Scotland.

Reporting Scotland

Why can't they do it in the real set? It can't be too hard, as it would be fired up and ready for Newsnight Scotland, and isn't it just a matter of changing the gels and screens?

Newnight Scotland are doing their "what's coming up" bit during the beginning headlines of the main newsnight programme whilst the Reporting Scotland late bulletin is on so not possible. Plus, I suppose it uses less crew to broadcast from that simple desk with one camera angle.
