Bringing it back with Harry Hill was an absolute mistake and it seems even they have realised that now.
Ah, at the end of the day, who cares clearly not be GMB management.
Although when we speculated earlier this year I had the incline he would leave. I'd never heard him question his position before so I sensed he'd made his mind up already.
I believe he recommended Emma Willis and I really agreed with him. Right now, I don't think there is anyone like her, she's done an incredible job on Big Brother and is doing well on the Voice all the while presenting on Heart. I think she's got it, she's the sort of presenter I'd expect to take over the reins after Dermott so I'd really enjoy if she jumped ships from the Voice and came over to the X Factor. Also, timings wouldn't prevent her doing Big Brother which is another bonus.
They should've done something years back which would have made it more natural. Like you said VMPhil bringing something in now would be difficult and people would probably oppose it.
Oh so do in fact.
I think it would fit if EastEnders did a Neighbours like opening? Obviously add the "duff duffs" at the beginning of somewhere in the theme?
Emmerdale seems to be the only UK soap to get away with changing their theme up. Hollyoaks did change their theme completely for a couple of years before returning to a reworked version of the original theme which apart from one remix hasn't changed much at all in the 10 years since it debuted.
I wonder if they were to something like this:
Just tighten it up more.
What you can say is that with the other soaps when they make set or character changes it registers the opening credits out of date regularly whereas Eastenders is lucky as the layout of London isn't scheduled for a rebrand for a few years yet.
In all seriousness, I'd quite like to see the square incorporated like you said. I wonder if they could have Eastenders with the Thames outline (or something) place over the square?
Would you support the decision to change the opening credits? Since birth we've had the river Thames shot but is anyone else a bit bored of it? I guess it is iconic for the show but does anyone agree they could really refresh it and still apply the same end shot?
That said if you were a fan of Kanye I can't imagine you'd have actually enjoyed the performance because it was interrupted so in that sense I sympathise with fans. Like mentioned, it would have made sense to either only show his performance to those in the O2 or record it for itv2.
Although I would actually give Kanye any airtime regardless, I think he a horrific artist but that's just personal preference.
Although I accept that this one hasn't been as good as the first I still faithfully tuned in each week to follow the case and discover the Sandbrook mystery. I agree that having the show go with another "whodunnit" for series 2 would have been boring. By developing the characters whilst allowing the Danny thing to continue another side of the show was seen. I think David Tennant or someone else said a few weeks back in an interview that series 2 isn't like another series rather a continuation of the first - I agree.
With series 3 I am hoping that now we've seen the past and concluded the story of the first series we now get that other "whodunnit" or something similar.
Broadchurch is a fantastically gripping drama that must do incredibly for ITV. Depending on how and when the third series is released I think will determine a fourth - but that's ages away.
Biggest joy going forth is that our 2 leads are staying with the show.
I guess they would have recorded the practice run the night before so they could edit that in.
Although they could edit it out they might not. The producer already stated he understood that, although he wants it to go perfectly, the mistakes justify live TV.
In all honesty, the way the media has exaggerated this blooper is crazy. Naturally we know that Ian's real name is Adam but a casual viewer may not and plus how many times have you asked how someone was before correcting yourself after mixing them up with someone else. There was pause that Joyner could have slotted in "Ian, sorry confusing him with someone else" and laughed. I get that in the sort of circumstances you wouldn't forget your best friend's husband's name but things happen. My point is that the whole mistake has been blown out of proportion - especially when compared to Scott Malsden's 5 years back.
I like what you have, would it always be purple or would it be able to match the other colours too?
I don't mind the positioning in fact when you take into account that other mock and the way the logo was able to be integrated justifies positioning it where you have. Can we see some more stuff on this front?
As for the trailer, I'm not overly keen. The transition between the initial logo and the footage isn't very professional in my opinion. The spinning with the programme title works and the transition to the 5 is fine but I'd like to see something else. It reminds me of the current stuff we have and albeit it is good, you've got a new logo and I can't help but feel the coloured sections could play a more important part - not sure how. Your rebrand, in my opinion, should put a whole new perspective on each individual aspect of the channel. Also, although I had the idea of the circle spinning I think it gets boring when you use it for both the promos and in-programming advertising - try a few different things to add depth to it.
Really great start and a promising continuation. Really enjoying this mock, as I once attempted to do a rebrand (or a few) for the channel because I too want to see it given new life.

He has been the main presenter once so I'm not sure that they would trialling him as such. To be fair, nor does he need to move up through the ranks he is an experienced presenter and deserves to be treated like one. Since his initial appearance he has been reduced so much that there is going to come a point when he will just leave and go somewhere better.
As I've said in the past, they need to remember what made GMB different and what made it stand out from all of the other failed ITV Breakfast shows. Sadly, even in my bias love of the show, I can admit it's completely deminished and the refresh of January sealed that in my opinion.
If it's to be these 3 all week then I'd be gutted if he wasn't given the opportunity to present alongside one of the females at least once. Can I also ask if, since January, we've had 4 presenters and not just 2 and a newsreader?
I'm not entirely too sure where you should go with this. I'm all for supporting change, even if it isn't necessary, but for a programme like the nightshift there isn't a huge demand to have this brilliant on-screen graphics because, in the most basic or reasons, it doesn't matter.
I think the white was ok - better than the orange - what I would like to see is some examples of how this would animate on screen. Also, if the show was to "relaunch" how about incorporating Twitter? I don't know if I'm alone but I feel your more likely to have people get involved if you had the option of tweeting in.
Whatever you chose to do next with this mock, the best of luck.
When compared, your 5 does work best but I do agree with ASO maybe look back into drawing a 5 yourself especially now you have a solid outline. Failing, I'll contradict myself and advise you to keep the 5 you chose.
When I look at this I see great potential and I can't wait to see it develop.
I can't help but think that despite you probably having an idea about where you'll take this logo and use it across the channel I think you should look into a recent ten mock which can be found in the gallery. The vibrancy and feel of the logos are similar in my opinion and I think some of the ideas from that mock could be applied here - naturally not copying but take inspiration.
Like I've said I look forward to seeing the rest of the package. Good luck.
Have you got the font, or a similar one to, the actual STV one - makes it more inline?
The nightshift uses purple quite prominently why not use purple where you have gone blue? It would allow the show to stay inline with the STV rebrand whilst remaining its own identity.
Yeah I thought so and in my opinion it makes sense to give them all an equal length if they've to represent a genre.
Thanks Jake - sarcasm is the greatest way forward.
Anyway, best of luck I'd really like to see some trailers, endboards, etc including this new logo. Maybe upload a few different "5"s though, I'm not 100% on the one used.
I can't say for sure but you'll know, are all your colours given equal segments? I wouldn't love worry too much about have the colours in the correct order, I would have a standard logo that is used for branding like on buildings and would allow the on-screen graphics the flexibility to change the order - the wood group rebrand is what I am thinking of.
I don't think it should be Channel 4s Breakfast show instead a brand new one for five - five live?
Not really a fan of the set. The view isn't bad and could be integrated nicely, plus why is there patio doors and no balcony - is there not some health and safety issue there. Although I'm not big breakfast lover I think what made it different was the house and it lacks that here. Probably why I suggest creating something new.
Also not really a fan of the colours, not sure I agree purple is such a morning colour maybe try a blue?
Bit saddened by this because, as much as I like Rylan, Emma has been the spin-off host for so long now I'm just used to her editions. Will definitely miss her.
What do you think her reasoning is? During the summer series she isn't doing any other live work is she? A very suspicious me considers claims that Dermott O'Leary wasn't going to return to host X Factor and he had put Emma's name forward for taking over. Both shows are on at similar times (auditions when BB summer launches) would anyone else consider that Emma is going to take over X Factor and is cutting down her big brother related workload?

I had thought about the joining up of the other letters too but it would take away the consistency in the logos and wouldn't that mean keeping the "t" and "s"?
On the BBC arts front maybe having IT in uppercase wouldn't be too bad.
I can't wait to see some promotions, end boards etc have you begun work on them?
