There are no business news and no editions of WBR planned for today and tomorrow. Though there will be shown special business reports at the times where we normally get WBR.
WBR is scheduled to return on Wednesday at 0530 GMT.
The reason for the different presenter shifts is that The World Today is not on air today and tomorrow. This means the 0500 GMT bulletin is done by the overnight presenter. So David Eades started one hour later today. Also there are no editions of The World this week so that a 2000 GMT bulletin has been added to the schedule.
I think shifts will be as following today and tomorrow:
0600-1000
1000-1400
1400-1800
1800-2200
2200-0100
I think it's quite wierd that BBC World won't be talking about Business for two days...
Could you enlighten us a bit more on the nature of the weirdness?
Well, at 0930GMT I saw David Eades (if he presented The World Today he should habe finished his shift at 0730GMT), then at 1000GMT Lyse Doucet began her shift which is very strange since shifts begin at 0800 and 1200GMT.
Moreover there are no editions of World Business Report and I haven't seen any Business presenter so far.
Jingle Boys
- Martin Popplewell (as noted above), Mathew Price, Adrian Finighan, Elliot Gotkine, Martin Popplewell, Mathew Amroliwala, Martin Popplewell, Damian Grammatikus and, erm........Martin Popplewell.
Well, as I imagined the dreadful Anya Sitaram was on schedule but Nik Gowing took her place, but he must have gotten tired and let Anya have her try. By the way if I were Anya I would be quite angry about that...
Nik Gowing is on this evening; I just had a look at the online feed, which broke away from its disaster coverage to go to the Ukranian Election coverage; at which point the feed was replaced with a "this broadcast will resume shortly" still. Perhaps they don't have online rights for the footage they're using?
"BBC WORLD" - I hope you manage to get in touch with people in the region soon - I can imagine it's quite likely that the communication networks are down either from water damage or just the volume of people trying to get through..
Nik Gowing on Sunday is very strange, could it be possibile that someone like, I don't know, Anya Sitaram was on schedule but they said "Wait, is Anya going to handle both the earthquake in Asia and the Ukraininan elections in a continuing coverage? We'd better call Nik Gowing"?
It's not that Anya wouldn't be able to handle it, rather that Nik is the chief presenter at BBC World, and is usually called in when there is major news. Nothing more sinister than that.
Oh, I see.
What time did the coverage begin this morning?
