Female lineup on BBC news channel just now - Carrie and Rachel. Has this been all week or just today?

They were on yesterday, not sure about Monday.

It was Rachel and Tim on Monday.

On female newsreaders over 50: If, and it's a big if, Wiki is to be believed, Louise Minchin is just over 50!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louise_Minchin

If that was the case then the BBC would have made a big deal about it when Mark Thompson announced the hiring of an older woman - Kirsty Walk, Maxine Mawhinney and (I think) Martha Kearney were listed as being older female presenters still going strong.

I seriously doubt that but if it was true she AMAZING for 50!!!!

Sabet Choudhary on alongside Anitta McVeigh tonight. Quite suprising as he's not a particularly high profile reporter, so you wouldn't have thought he was an obvious choice!

Last minute change?

How was he? - I suppose he's got to start somewhere!

who has presented from westminster today? - I saw Matthew at some point today. Has anyone else been there? Huw?

News at Five was Huw in Westminster and Louise in the studio and on the 2-5 shift was Matthew from Westminster and again Louise in the studio and no one was at westminster for the news at six.

Tim reporting from Westminster tonight - can anyone else name occasions where Tim has presented on location?

Also I do like Louise and Matthew presenting together!

Tim's done location when soldiers have been flown home and also from the financial sector during banking "issues"

He also reported from Royal Mail HQs when the strikes were going on

Any idea who is doing the news on Christmas Day? As far as I can remember Jane Hill did both Christmas Day and New Years Day last year, or am I getting confused?

That might have been the year before...it was George that did both last year. I think it might be Sophie on one of them...

Ah yes...you're right, I got confused. If Sophie did one I'd imagine it being New Year since she has a young family? Jane could possibly be on Christmas or perhaps Kate? I wouldn't think it would be Louise if she's doing breakfast on the 26th. Who usually does NC over Christmas/New Year. I wouldn't like to be stuck in a studio at the turn of the year! Who has this rubbish task?

Yes, Kate may do one of them or Emily may also. I'm sure there is one person who won't say no to BBC news channel shifts.....Tim Willcox!! I think Ellie Crisel did shifts last year and they'll probably use some of the overnight presenters - Martine Croxall, Kasia Madera, James Dagwell, Juliet Dunlop etc etc

New face for 8pm update - Maryam Moshiri - don't think she has done this before?!?

Who usually does it these days? Perhaps whoever it is was is ill and maryam covered since she is doing business news this evening?

Its normally Ellie Crisell, Riz Lateef normally does Friday and relief. Celina Hinchcliffe who does the sport sometimes does it too.

BBC News Channel: Presentation

I know but would it really be that costely. Maybe BBC should make cuts in pay checks from their ''stars'' and not damage the look of their channels.

I think if they gave rubbish pay to the newsreaders we would get rubbish presenters on the nationals! The big "stars" would stick around!

Does anyone know when the BBC News channel will be moving out to TC7 for the BARCO replacement?

Surely there is only one obvious time of year to do this if they do - when the regular shows from the large studio are off-air for a period, allowing the News Channel to move in?

At the moment TC7 will shut after Christmas eve to have its floor painted.
N6 will also shut to have its Barco Projectors replaced, which means that the Channel will move to N9 for the Christmas period, along with Breakfast and BBC Bullies.
The plan is to have the channel from the old N9 Newsroom set and the BBC1 Bullies from the new smaller set opposite.

Anyone have any pictures of N9...I cant remember what it was like
