Last Orders

Hi everyone,
I have been looking for the original London Tonight theme from 1993 for years. I really love it but have not been able to source a clean copy including headlines yet. I'm quite sure it's not library music (pardon me if it is).

Is there anyone here who has it and is willing to help out, please? I would be very thankful. Also, I am a TV and radio jingles collector – so I might be able to help you out with something in return.
Cheers!

BBC News – Behind the Scenes

Thought this might fit in here. Is it acurate?

ITV News

Why do the pictures used on ITV news still have the CBS DOG on them when itv obviously has a copy without it?

Probably a copyright issue. Clips that are released especially for use in news coverage must include the CBS logo.

Also, broadcasting rights owned by ITV do not automatically apply to ITN since it’s a separate company.

DeMarkay's Unreleased Mocks

How did you get the BBC Three font?

BTW: It's a commercially available font called Fin Bold by StudioMoross.

Is this why we didn't get a new news studio with the recent rebrand? The SRF building was recently revamped and the architects included this image of a sports studio. However, it looks very much like a multi-purpose studio/set. Has it ever been on air? (It's image 5. Sorry, I don't know how to embed the image)

https://www.swiss-architects.com/en/penzel-valier-zurich/project/campus-srf-zurich#image-5

That's exactly why. They decided to go ahead with the rebrand using the old sets once the delay became too long. The studio seen here is a multipurpose set which will be used for all kinds of news and sports programming. I think more colour can be added using LEDs. But still, it is quite grey.

International News Presentation: Past and Present

The current news studio and gallery at SRF are past end-of-life. They were supposed to be dismantled well over a year ago and replaced by brand new all-IP technology. Unfortunately, there are major issues with the new studio and it still can’t be used today.

In both cases, virtual sets are going. RTL is planning a completely real set while ZDF is mulling how to integrate both real and virtual elements due to the huge sums it spent on its virtual studio , a set so hated in Germany that it has its own nickname ~ the green hell! I’m delighted to hear that German TV is slowly getting over the awful virtual obsession.

Really glad to see these sets go. The ZDF set is completely devoid of anything even slightly anchored in reality. Everything is floating and endless. It's virtual in the most awful way. RTL is slightly better, but still too unreal und completely unrelatable. The only virtual set I really like is ITV's because it's a room I can make sense of.

There are quite a few awful virtual sets in Germany:

e.g. 05:33 SR aktuell, 12:36 HR Hessenschau, 13:15 MDR Thüringen Journal

CNN International & Domestic

But for the reporters outside the Whitehouse, sometimes you can see their vapor of breath. So they should be standing outside somewhere Laughing

There’s a whole row of tents with standup positions for mostly domestic networks. Found a map of the location a while ago. See this article, at the bottom:

Interesting how all their international bureaus have staff listed by hierarchy, except for London which is just a long list of alphabetically sorted names. No titles to be seen.

I have always been a big fan of the very first London Tonight theme.
