This Morning

Don't suppose they used the new titles featuring Eamonn and Ruth this week.

Not that I've seen. They only ever seem to roll them on the Sunday editions. I'm guessing they'll be using them during the summer run.

This Morning

RDJ posted:
Rochelle and Rylan presenting today.

She was a guest on GMB this morning too.

Does this mean they'll be presenting This Morning on Sunday? (Usually recorded on Friday afternoons).

Indeed, it does.

This Morning

I noticed this evening that Stephen Dixon's cover photo on Twitter is of himself and Ruth on the This Morning sofa - did he ever cover for Eamonn? The photo was taken before studio 8 was refreshed, so someone with a good memory is needed!

I’m sure he was on for the news review that they used to do. Might be wrong, but it seems more likely than hosting it.

Ah, yes - that does seem more plausible. I do miss that segment, but seeing as there was a push to make the show less 'newsy', I guess we'll never see a return!

Sky News | General Discussion

The standard weekday editions of Sunrise are beyond dull, Sky really need to find a way of shaking up the format without simply copying their rivals.

I’m surprised they haven’t attempted to improve the green screen extension, it still looks very poor. ITV News have managed to create a fairly realistic backdrop, whereas Sky News have a dodgy 2009 video game style backdrop.

Why did Sky News abandon the news room backdrop to their presentation? I used to like having the news desk in the heart of the Sky News Centre.

That's something we'd all like to know the answer to! I like the Sarah-Jane and Niall partnership, but feel that the studio lets the show down. There's such a blandness to studio 6, and that goes against absolutely everything Sky News once was - a pioneer in presentation! As others have said, it's a regional news setup on a national, rolling channel!

I'm sure putting Sunrise back into the glass box would improve things (slightly). Even then, there's just not the same amount of versatility that Sky News Centre had.

Watching Kay's show really makes me think how much they miss a soft set.
TTRWE and London Lite gave kudos

Watching Sky's coverage from their Millbank studio this evening serves as a nice reminder of what they used to have. The Glass Box and (especially) the VR studio just doesn't cut it for me.

Sky News: Presenters & Rotas

Anna Botting continuing to present past midnight tonight, with a second (well, third) Press Preview at 00:30.

Last I checked the 12:30am Preview is a repeat of the 11:30pm one which is then aired off and on throughout the night.

Usually, yes, but on Wednesday night/Thursday morning there was another live Press Preview broadcasted at 00:30. Kevin Maguire and Andrew Pierce were the reviewers on both the 22:30 and 23:30 programmes, however Andrew was replaced by Rachel Cunliffe on the 00:30 edition.

This Morning

Holly says she's coming back for Christmas. I guess I'm a Celeb will be wrapping up soon.

Phillip has confirmed via Twitter that Holly will not be back on This Morning this year, and that they will be reunited on Dancing on Ice in the new year.
