I don't really think so. Its not unusual for that to happen. And the chunkiness - well look at News 24 - before the relaunch, their astons looked like they'd been sat on! Now their as chunky as Sky News's. The whole point of them is to grab your attention. I actually thought these ones looked a little smaller, as they're in widescreen?

I don't think ITV News even need a split screen, as they have a LIVE link-up just over their shoulder.

I know - I had that in mind. We can't have that old thing forever! Twisted Evil Although I think I should put some modern clocks in.

Good ideas.

Maybe you could make it a little more realistic by adding gradients to the red boards. And I don't think all those worlds are appropriate - its like you're in a geography lesson! You could have different BBC Channels showing or something more graphical and easier too look at.

Anywhoo, I like the phrase "The Business Board" and the silver pillars tying in with the new-look-to-be.

So 'ere we go, my first try at ITV. I still think there's a touch of BBC in it though. The graphics would replace the current ones probably, and the information graphics would be simular to the ones on air currently...

I tried it before I lauched them, but it just didn't look right. The text looked all... well...squashed up. It looked like part of the contact text, and the aim was to make it as unseen as possible...

I totally agree.

You could have shots of rush-hour traffic, the sunrise and other early morning shots, like the N24 sequence. Maybe a few shots of the presenters getting ready and preparing to go on air?

Yes, that's where I got my inspiration for the final part of the animation with the black rectangle, but everything was my own idea. Once these come into place, the 7 O'clock News titles would be long gone!

I'm not sure what the first "5 News" music sounded like. I think sorta techy, futurisitic, fast-paced music would suit the mock?

Here, you will see today's relevant news stories whizzing past the camera. In total, there would be around 5 seconds of animation...

Now Slowly, the camera starts twisting

Good ideas so far. Possibly some more variations of idents set in different locations (eg. the city, on buildings, even in the sea?

An extended idea would be great to see.
