my n24

• Give each group of astons a different colour or opaqueness - maybe even add a dull background picture or gradient to some
• Change the "in London" text to a pink or white
• All astons have GOT to be inside the 4:3 area
• Lift the name aston more into the screen and off the bottom
• Change the text on the top (the ticker) to capitals.

The arrows are a pretty good idea. Great first attempt Very Happy

Help Re: Custom Production Slide

I definitely prefer your original idea, but I think white text, with a white glowing star would make the logo stand out much more.

BBC Midlands Today

BBC Midlands Today - 101st Post

Here's a few mocks on the BBC region Midlands Today. The titles would stay similar, as they do now, for all regions (except nations)...

Title sequence

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/01.jpg
This part is similar to the National news's first scene

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/02.jpg
Here's the BIG BANG

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/03.jpg
As the bang gets larger, footage of that region would merge in

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/04.jpg
Now we're fully into the sequence

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/05.jpg
(There would probably be more scenes than this)

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/07.jpg
Here, the picnic scene disappears, and the whole logo comes together.

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/08.jpg
And here it finishes. The "Midlands Today" logo would probably flap in.

Astons

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/name_aston.jpg
Name aston

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/place_aston.jpg
LIVE astons

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/main_aston.jpg
Large aston (for displaying numbers and information)

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/update.jpg
Breakfast update (the clock would be moved up in-line with the astons)

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/end_still.jpg
End still (wouldn't be blurred).

Let me know what you think,

Help creating real graphics

I recommend Ulead Cool 3D Production studio for 3D graphics software thats easy to use. You can either download the trial from www.ulead.com or buy the lower quality package for around £40.

Adobe After Effects is good for adding gradients and special effects, as is Adobe Premier. They're available from www.adobe.com. Bryce 5 and 3ds Max 5 also do the job. Do a search on google for them two.

Hope that helps

GMTV • Big Brother 5 • ITV1+2+3

The titles are much better. But i'd get rid of that dark yellow that lurks within the astons...

Software

I would recommend Ulead Cool 3D Studio for budget 3D software. But beware - you can't as such create gradients and shadows, etc, within the program. I recommend it for animated 3D gif's for a website, but not really for sophisticated mocks.

There are two types of versions. Ulead Cool 3D 3.0 - for around £50.00 or Ulead Cool 3D Production Studio 1.0 for around £100.00. I'm not really sure of the difference between them!

LADUK.co.uk

Hi

Laduk has launched!

Laduk is basically a site housing all my Mocks, Wallpapers, Resources and much more! It is updated regularly throughout the week, and a "Software Reviews" section is coming 2nd January. More features will hopefully be added, through February.

I've kept changing my mind on the design, since I got the domain in 2002. This is the first one that has properly been uploaded fully.

Lots of comments would be great!

Visit LADUK!

Sky News

These are actually very good I think. Nice and sleek.

But i'd edit that emboss out on the main aston, and just shade them in. Also, the text is a little too small - but I might just be used to Sky' astons being MASSIVE. I don't like the red dots in the split screens pic. I think just leave it blue.

This would be nice to see developed into quotes, more split screens, etc.

BRAND NEW • Vote 2004

WOW!

Like the effects of it all coming together! That is great!

But not too sure of it changing from black to white. You should stick with the white one i think.

What software was used to make it?

Great.
