New Sky channels: Crime, Comedy, Documentaries, Nature

Universal TV has now finished and still on the Sky Guide.

Looks like a lazy PowerPoint presentation.

Why do anything elaborate or fancy for a closedown slide?

I just feel like the text was quickly added in one of those PowerPoint boxes and put in Italics.
It's extremely lazy if I can easily decipher it Very Happy

what posted:
They’re already playing out the wrong announcements on Sky Comedy.

Looks like TRACE must've had something to do with that one.

Guess they should "TRACE" back to their mistakes, ey?

TV ARK: Returns Jan 2020

I also enjoy the fact that on most recordings they have an ident preceding the theme tune:nice touch.

Really digging the intro and the endcap to all of the clips. There is LOTS of stuff to get through.

BBC rebrand

We're not in Year 4, so let's get back to the mock rather than pointing out each others' incredibly minor errors...

In the most recently-posted picture, the fading squares style is nice, but perhaps you could show how this would look for BBC2, CBBC, etc, as well as how you could display ECPs in this style, and show how it would look for longer show titles than the relatively short one ('The One Show') chosen above.

I am liking seeing this evolve - keep going with it!

Surely I don't think year 4's even had the brainspan to point out ANY errors.

Discovery rebrands Home as HGTV

I'm not very sure if with Discovery's current content range you can make the channel Home AND Gardens, considering that Garden programming is a very obscure genre.

There are plenty of gardening programmes around. Home airs (or used to air) Ground Force for a start. Did wonders for garden decking apparently, a "success" that Titchmarsh later regretted.

I'm not sure if Home have the assets to many garden programmes however.

Music Channels

Trace seem to have resolved the issue of the EPG listings not matching the DOGs, by removing the programme name DOGs from all their channels.

Also, although Christmas Starz reverted back to Starz on the 7th, it continued to show Christmas programming in the EPG for a few days after that, and is currently still using the Christmas Starz graphics.

I think it's back to normal now as of yesterday (finally)

TV ARK: Returns Jan 2020

Just a quick question, will TVARK actually crash down if there are too many people on it? I'm not exactly expecting an audience, just wondering how many are in this small community that might make it crash down.

All websites will "crash" if there's too much traffic to them. Simple as that. All it means they can't serve the requests being asked of them, its what makes DoS attacks effective, except in that case its a deliberate attempt to knock it offline, as opposed to websites are oversubscribed because too many people want to visit them. That effect occurs quite often when there's a major news story like 9/11, and I remember the BBC News and most of the American news sites just couldn't cope with the demand they were facing at that time.

But in those events there were possibly millions of people visiting the same site at a time, but with a small community like this it could only possibly be 200,000 (just an estimate)

Channel 5 general discussion

A few months ago (or maybe last year was it)

As we are less than 3 full weeks into the current year, "a few months ago" would inherently be last year.

Yep,that's what I meant.
