ITV logo on South Bank building
I notice that permission was granted for a logo at the lower levels, it seems they dislike a logo, or as they put it an advert, from a high level. It also explains the This Morning logos as they too were on the studios at the lower levels. They can;t be seen from too far or conservation zones so it seems OK.

It was also really good to see BBC World News from NBH, it has a really good feel.

For those interested, this Soap Box report from today's Daily Politics contains some really good shots from inside the newsroom of NBH looking fabulous in action. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-21161942It was also really good to see BBC World News from NBH, it has a really good feel.

A small plea, can someone please record and upload the reports on the building from the first day. They are on the news website but I can't access them as they are inaccessible to those in the UK.
BBC World News from New Broadcasting House
It's very interesting to look through and the channel seems to have settled well.A small plea, can someone please record and upload the reports on the building from the first day. They are on the news website but I can't access them as they are inaccessible to those in the UK.

As for the lower thirds, they're essentially the same layout except they've got thinner. I'd only change the ticker colours and fix the DOG spacing issue.
More videos of the titles please and can someone please upload the NBH tour that all the presenters are alluring too.
BBC World News from New Broadcasting House
I haven't been following this and I rarely watch the channel but all the programme titles seen here are brilliant, the countdown is truly excellent and for the teams to ask the World Service reporters what reaction is/explain what general mindset would be is a masterstroke. As for the lower thirds, they're essentially the same layout except they've got thinner. ITV - Generic idents seem to hide a bit, certainly when viewed on a computer, unsure if it is better on a TV. The themes are OK and will probably work well for the times they'll be used i.e. daytime. The specific logos will probably be used for the peak programmes.
ITV2 - Whitty idents that will probably do fine for the target audience. The logo is by far the best
ITV3 - As said before these are just beautiful and suit the channel perfectly, in my opinion better than the last lot which was a bit neutral and meaningless. The only problem - again the ITV3 logo is too shy.
ITV4 - Similar to ITV2, they could work and are aimed at the right audience.
ITV News - Brilliant - a look that works well, including the different times on Big Ben and a set that doesn't scream "I'm not real". An enourmous improvement.
Regional News (Meridian) - Nice titles and better aligned with the main news brand. Disappointed at the set design - a video shown on tonight's ITV News Meridian (yes that is the title) showed how they changed the flooring and the lights. I was expecting more. Some of changes seen here: http://www.itv.com/news/meridian/update/2013-01-14/itv-news-meridian-reveals-new-look/
However hats off to ITV as a whole for the seamless change on TV, Websites and on buildings and vehicles. A complete rebrand overnight. No easy feat but looks fantastic.
ITV Rebrand 2013
I've just had a scan through and this is my take of the idents:ITV - Generic idents seem to hide a bit, certainly when viewed on a computer, unsure if it is better on a TV. On another note, bear in mind that they're preparing for the overnight switch. These things are possible - I understand Anglia did their 1988 rebrand overnight - so ITV are laying the foundations for the big unveiling.
ITV Rebrand and New Logo
I notice Meridian's is a sticky label whereas Yorkshire and Tyne Tees, as mentioned earlier, are on their buildings. On another note, bear in mind that they're preparing for the overnight switch. EDIT: I don't suppose that the font on this glass (from Meridian's new (Nov 2011) home) is the new font is it?
Don't penalize me for bringing it up but it was debated on the Meridian thread about the poor logo attempt and the font.
ITV Rebrand and New Logo
Couldn't find any application for Meridian but I suppose they're in a business park so it'll be park signage only. As for the font, I personally can't tell any difference between old and new. I think I'll wait until next week before I pass judgement, not that my opinion matters that much.EDIT: I don't suppose that the font on this glass (from Meridian's new (Nov 2011) home) is the new font is it?

As for the earlier comments on what happens when the newsroom tech needs updating, you would hope that the new buildings have more flexibility for that built in. After all space is built into floors for new cables and connections etc and the fact that all the news gathering areas are in new buildings (be it NBH for BBC News or MediaCity for Sport and 5 Live) should mean that this is the same for all. If you consider the World Service were inhabiting an old building with less chance of adaptation, the move should make introduction of new technology more streamlined.

Thanks for sharing the video, it looks really good up and running and the 'Olympic mix' had completely passed me by so thanks for drawing my attention to it.As for the earlier comments on what happens when the newsroom tech needs updating, you would hope that the new buildings have more flexibility for that built in.
