New Discovery & Murdoch News Channels?

As people have said, C4 News manage and others manage it!

e.g. One news channel could lead on Dominic Cummings breaking the lockdown and barely mention or not mention at all that Labour MP Rosie Duffield did similar. Another channel could do the opposite. Is there impartiality or bias to warrant Ofcom intervening?

Good point - might be difficult though due to the fact that they're branding themselves as a right-wing channel. C4 News has a bias but they claim to be impartial, which is the difference.

'They' haven't said anything. It's all just based on a Tweet. The media are always putting their own false spin on things.

Apologies - I was going off what I have heard personally. Though I do think that the plan is to market themselves as a right-wing alternative.

New Discovery & Murdoch News Channels?

From what I’ve been told this is all actually happening - think a version of Fox News in the UK, essentially.

As people have said, however, I’m not sure how they’ll get past Ofcom impartiality regulations.

The Sky News Thread

How many post-Eamonn revamps of the breakfast slot have there been now??! (Have to say Kay is an improvement on the world’s worst breakfast show which replaced Eamonn)

Depends on what you call a 'revamp'. If you're being really pedantic there's:
Autumn 2016-Summer 2017 - Double-headed Sarah-Jane and Jonathan Samuels after Eamonn, move to glass box.
Summer 2017-January 2018 - Still SJM and JS, but more single-headed with JS in a minimized 'newsreader' role. New logo, graphics, glass box desk position.
January 2018-??? - Move to Studio 6, 'newsreader' role given a little more prominence, more new graphics.
???-Autumn 2019 - Niall Paterson joins, replacing Jonathan Samuels who moves to a different shift.
Autumn 2019-Autumn 2020 - Sunrise split into Early Rundown with Niall Paterson and Kay Burley@Breakfast, moving to glass box and Westminster.
Autumn 2020 - new Westminster set, possible rename for Kay Burley@Breakfast.

Good Morning Britain in 2020

Before Piers arrived we had Kate and Susanna for a few months, if memory serves. They made a very good team. But of course Piers arrived and Kate was the fall guy as usual shoved out to Friday's with Ben.

That was always the plan, surely?

Why shouldn't Kate have got top job?

Tbh I'd say Kate's been pretty resilient whilst at GMTV/ITV Breakfast. When GMTV ended she essentially went from being a main presenter to Daybreak's entertainment editor, then after bagging the top job at Daybreak again got a less prominent role at GMB. These role changes may have been her choice of course, but kudos to her for sticking with ITV if they weren't.

BBC News | Journalists Use of Twitter

I’ve never seen anything from Huw Edwards that could be classed as being outspoken

Nor me. However I've seen things that some keyboard warriors would term as outspoken. One example is Huw's passion regarding Welsh language and culture

Chris Bryant MP criticized him about defending Welsh culture a few week’s back - to which someone replied with the valid point ‘would you still criticize him if he were defending black or asian culture?’.

A Collection of Ideas

and apparently PATV uses Powerpoint for his design purposes - to that, I say kudos - I usually use Inkscape.

I generally find Powerpoint easier for graphics - it’s got very decent alignment tools, and is just generally easy to use whilst still presenting a good result (for stills certainly, if you’re going to animate use separate software and key it in).

Sky... again

You continue to impress - I find very, very few flaws with this mock - very talented! Must’ve taken a lot of work for the Brexit Election one alone.

BBC 2020 Rebrand Project

Here we go! More BBC News graphics! Today I'm focusing on on-screen graphics, which I altered slightly to go with my "edgy" design as seen in my title screens.

To start off, Here's a TOTH headline:
*

Studio/presenter shots:
*
*
*

And finally, Breaking News:
*

(I put the quote in as a spoiler so it didn't slow the page down)

I think your title cards are good, but it's hard to see how those lower thirds are an improvement on the current ones - I may have said this already but IMHO you should either keep the current L3s or revert to a completely different style.

Whole mock is improving a lot though - I like how, unlike some, you're taking the feedback onboard.
Looking Glass, DeMarkay and BiggieSMLZ gave kudos

BBC 2020 Rebrand Project

I think you'd probably be better off either sticking to the current graphics package or moving to a completely new design - IMHO the current package looks better than the one there, but that may be just because of the slightly dodgy alignment of the text
