London Live

So other than the live "news" I'm guessing there is no requirement at all for any original content. It wouldn't be so bad if they were airing a good mix of actual local content made this century alongside their classics, but as it is it's just essentially C4+30years with a bit of content passed off as news.

Basically, yes, and a far cry from what was promised. Chip, chip, chip away. No-one will stop them and no-one anyone would notice but you can only re-re-rerun these shows so many times until people stop watching them plus many of their shows are available on 4OD or Netflix etc so people can watch them there. Being part of that live news team must be a bit of thankless task too. Although it is starting to smell a bit like 'get as high ratings as we can for whatever we can and then we can sell it with a decent "audience" nicely cheap and lean'. It's a toy the company appears of bored of now.

Did London Live air news this evening? The listings in The Stardard had a movie playing between 6 and 8, though Radio Times billed London Live News.

Take your pick. It's the (un)lucky dip of TV. And I would fully expect some programme changes in early 2016, not that anyone would notice.

Kiri Bloore has left London Live. When asked by Jimmy if she'd come back, she sarcastically replied "I doubt it"

Kicks Off returns on Friday 8th January doubled headed by Jimmy Bullard and Jason Cundy.

Ouch! One football and season and they can't even be consistent. That show is having worse luck than Chelsea this season.

London Live have been pissing their chances of ever being taken seriously, or considered a success, up the wall for a while now. And certainly their attitude towards news etc takes the piss so this does fit well. Although, as most of their content is crap, maybe the guy in the image should have been squatting....
SuperDave and London Lite gave kudos

Is Miss World being shown across the Local TV network? I can imagine it being on Big Centre TV for some reason...

i believe this is just a London Live thing as part of a deal to broadcast the most recent one? Surely OFCOM would have something to say, that is if they cared, that the other ones have nothing to do with local content. This looks like an effort to fill air time and nothing more and clearly literally anything will do now.

London Live unbelievably is showing Miss World 2015 next Saturday at 12.30pm, moving the lunchtime news to 11am.

That's shocking but also no real surprise. At 11am I'm also kind of amazed they're not calling it Breakfast. But the again, I'm still amazed they're even calling it news these days.

Personally I think LL will continue to go down the sport and Ealing films route in 2016 with tokenistic output towards news and current affairs.

Totally agree. It's very clear that news and current affairs isn't some thing they're able to do anywhere near as well as their competitors or even the papers in the same building.

Indeed, but still a poor performance. And you're right, they don't exactly have a lot to show for the year. Apart from the same things over and over. It's a training programme, not a TV channel.

Christmas 'news' or lack of it on London Live.

21-23rd Dec - Normal bulletins, although an extra hour of news from 1900-2000 replaces Jason Cundy Kicks Off on Monday.
24 Dec: Breakfast and Lunch only.
25-28 Dec- No news output.
29-31 Dec - Breakfast only.
1st Jan - No news.

So quite a lot less than last year then. I did predict this a few weeks back.

If I remember correctly they had an Evening show on Christmas Eve, they did a least two shows a day between Boxing Day and New Years Eve with an Evening Show on New Years Eve or something like that. That's quite a big reduction. They're not even trying to make an effort now really are they? What a bunch of clowns.

The schedule over Christmas is basically films and Desmonds.

That is so weak. Embarrassing. I'd put money on them scaling back even further in 2016 with news programmes being replaced by 3/5 minute news pods every hour or so through the day and the odd show like Kicks Off. Their commitment to true local news content is clearly cosmetic at best.

This week's edition of the Radio Today Programme focusses on Notts TV.

I was almost convinced until the guy claimed that London Live was a huge success...

And he didn't even say it in jest. I guess when you're as small as they are anything bigger must look like a success.

Channel 4 Breakfast News

It was naff because it was produced by Sky news just like I found 5 News naff when it was produced by Sky & vastly superior when produced by ITN. I am sure ITN could do a classier version of RISE on a cheap budget

I think ITN could make a good job of it. There are enough decent people floating around in various places across the board from 5 News, BBC, Sky and ITV as well and even the likes of some of he people who have jumped ship from the likes of London Live that could make a solid job of it. it could be a really interesting melting pot that one.
