Working Lunch dropped, GMT with George Alagiah to replace

As GMT looks quite interesting I be closing my petition to being back Working Lunch

But what if GMT doesn't turn out to meet your high standards of being "quite interesting", will the petition be reinstated?

ITV Discussion Thread

The whole thing is just pathetic and ludicrous. What are they going to do next? Stop using the colours yellow and black because it's offensive to bees? Rolling Eyes (he says, using a yellow and black emoticon)

Do you reckon it's "political correctness gone mad"?

ITV Game Shows

catchphrase!

Challenge did say there were looking at making its own run.

The channel that hasn't even got the money to make trailers? I think it would be better if they didn't touch Catchphrase. It would be very cheap and nasty.

Anyway, it seems that ITV have got a good Saturday night line up on their hands. Odd One in was all right and Magic Numbers was all right bordering on good. I'm not sure they were expecting to give away a grand prize of zero pounds at the end though. It was a bit of an anti-climax. I notice they still dropped confetti at the end of the show, although it was while the credits played so ITV1 viewers didn't really get to see it. I imagine it was meant to be dropped when the caller won big money. Much better than the rubbish on BBC One.

...and ITV's entire schedule tanked in the ratings last night. Every programme on the BBC won comfortably.

BBC Breakfast

Has anyone considered that interviews could easily be pre-recorded the day before and then simply played out on the next show? Saves the need for anyone to get up Manchester for 8:30.

The One Show

Someone said to me Adrian is big because the shows he leaves end up been axed. I.E. Working lunch. Not sure if this point true?

Yep, Chiles quite Working Lunch and then bang, 3 years later it was axed.

Well to be fair to him, he does a lot of stuff for free. Probably not big shows like X Factor etc, but quick trails and online stuff he does just for fun. He isn't the tight sod being made out on this forum. Laughing

Less of a tight sod, more of a hypocrite.

Sian gets the giggles this morning. Very funny.

Anybody know why that page is in the old pre-Lambie-Nairn style with the black and red globe/ribbons logo?

The entire BBC Breakfast site is still in the old style: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/breakfast/

An homage out of which he's made a lot of money. And it seems that he doesn't like anyone else paying homage either.

I seem to recall he also got his knickers in a twist when the BBC One show Totally Saturday used a similar 'homage'.

Seems there is a new voiceover for the promotions on E4. Slightly more laid back than Dickinson.

That's probably due to the fact the he wasn't very happy with E4 trying to poorly immitate him for a set of BB ads, when he's usually who does it for them anyway. Which is quite bad/cheap really.

Despite the fact his style is a poor imitation of the late Patrick Allen in the first place...

New BBC Comedy site has launched - http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy

Not sure about the design, or the implementation of the new visual language, for that matter. Too many arrows everywhere. Just all looks a bit amateurish.

Hopefully all these initial implementations of the new design will be refined once the more major parts of the site are overhauled.

Really like the comedy site.

Me too, I really haven't liked the new 'global visual language' on other sites but I think it works well on the comedy site.

Sky News

I believe the Sky one will be simulcasted on terrestrial telly, so those ratings will be taken into account.

It'll be on terrestrial television anyway because Sky News is on digital terrestrial but it won't be live on any of the 5 analogue channels. It'll be simulcast on the BBC News channel then a repeat on BBC Two at half eleven.
