Brexit Dramarama - Television News Coverage

Looking at the motions on the order paper. The Brexit debates should begin at 12:30pm and is motioned to last 8 hours. You have to consider any emergency questions or minister statements that could push the business back an hour so then we are moving into later territory in terms of the actual vote.

If there are no statements or emergency questions then we are looking at around 8:30pm start of voting although this is most likely not going to be on the actual deal as it's probably going to be certain that amendments will be pushed to a vote and it's expected to be that either amendments A, I, K, B, F are pushed to a vote. So yeah the actual vote isn't likely until or after 10pm.

You have to wonder if Channel 4 will simply rip up their schedule for the night as the EPG info suggests that they will be covering the actual vote. As for BBC One and ITV, I think they will extend the 10pm news anyway whether the vote happens before or after 10pm. It'll be a certainly interesting night on Tuesday and the days after that on the presentation and presenting side anyway.

EDIT: Correction, the debate finishes at 7pm but never the less, still plenty of votes to get through.

Big Brother UK

Emma was fantastic interviewing Roxanne tonight. She's trending on Twitter as well with massive praise from everyone and rightly so.

Removing the earpiece with Roxanne crying and just saying "Thanks everyone" was a proper and classic TV moment.

Local Election Coverage 2018

Apparently the BBC One coverage tonight will feature regional opt outs at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30. I can’t recall the BBC having done this in previous local elections, or even in general elections. Seems slightly redundant keeping staff in until 2:30am, when there’s not really that much to report in comparison to other elections, though I suppose when most local stations are on air throughout the night tonight it’s not too difficult to put a short bulletin together.

Will be interesting to see which region BBC One HD takes in England tonight or if they use the normal barker during regional slots.

Sky's coverage starts at midnight. No idea who's presenting

Niall Paterson is presenting on Sky.

Formula 1 in 2018

ESPN in the US who have taken over the rights from NBC are now taking the entire Sky Sports F1 programme.

Not quite. They are only taking the world feed coverage for practice and qualifying but are taking the On The Grid section which broadcasts 40 minutes before lights out so USA viewers will see Brundle's Grid Walk.

From what I saw on Twitter they appear to have taken the entire programme for practice this morning. This seems to also suggest they are taking the entire coverage - http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/11249198/f1-in-2018-sky-sports-f1-to-join-forces-with-espn

They're not taking the full coverage for the race.
