Are Dan Corbett and Peter Gibbs still appearing? Also, Nina Ridge seems to be appearing much more, big promotion?

Dan and Peter are still appearing - they both seem to be doing a mix of the afternoon online/red button (and presumably BBC World) forecasts and overnight shifts, as does Susan Powell.

Saif Al Islam Gadaffi Captured

BBC News has Doucet/Alagiah/Bowen/Willcox/Simpson/Davis/Pannell/Wingfield-Hayes all on the ground. A very impressive line-up indeed. From what I saw last night, Tim Willcox has taken over Lyse's rooftop position, Lyse is now down on the main square, and George Alagiah did the Six also from the roof. It (The Six) was partially simulcast on World, but was very UK-centric, with references to "the number of Briton's in Egypt......and so on". They cut away fairly early-on, back to Lucy Hockings in London.

Jim Muir and Jon Leyne have also been reporting from Cairo for TV, as have Kevin Connolly and John Sudworth for Radio. Frank Gardner has been covering from the UK as well.

I presume I have missed Philip Avery's last forecast? The biggest loss in the changes.

The worst gain? I think it is the constant appearances of Matt Taylor - it seems like he is on every evening at the moment. His style is pretty bland. Reminds me of when we had Alex Deakin overload when he was first about.

He's miles better than John Hammond, he has the expression and passion of a brick wall.

Think he has had his last. Susan Powell and Louise Lear haven't been on this month either I don't think unless they have done overnight.

I've seen a forecast from Susan Powell - the only people I haven't spotted are Louise, Jay Wynne and Elizabeth Saary.

Elizabeth is still on maternity leave I think.

Then I would say it's likely that Jay Wynne and Louise Lear have joined Tori, Tomasz, Phil and Rob in being moved off our screens. A tweet from Alex Deakin did certainly hint that Jay had gone, as he suggested that he would like to see McElwee, Avery and Wynne nominated for best weather presenter at TRIC simply to be mischevious.

Jon Sopel on with Jane at 11 today - highly unusual.

It’s been great seeing Matt Taylor doing the weather on the BBC News at 6 and 10 this week.
I’m wondering whether this may be more permanent as a result of Rob going.

Yes, according to various comments on his and other weather presenter's twitter pages.

It's looking like the range of faces on the BBC One Bulletins are going to be greatly reduced though - only John Hammond and Matt Taylor have done the Six/Ten since the shift change last Monday, and similarly only Laura Tobin and Nina Ridge have done the One.

In the original article about the departures of Tomasz Schafernaker Rob McElwee and Phil Avery it was claimed that three more forecasters would also be leaving - does anyone know if this was true or simply incorrect? They certainly seem to have substantially rejigged the on-air shifts.

BBC News: Presenters & Rotas

So today then we've had Charlie on Breakfast, Tim, and now Carrie.

Was there another presenter on in between Tim and Carrie? I've completely missed today's schedule Mad

I saw Nicholas Owen earlier today.

BBC News: Presenters & Rotas

Interesting to note that the BBC is soon to start broadcasting from Iran again - James Reynolds will gradually move into the role, following his current (short) stint in Washington.

BBC News: Presenters & Rotas

Anyone know who the Australian-sounding brunette newscaster is, who is reading the news on BBC World at the moment? Have never seen her before. Switched on after the start of the bulletin, hence missed the intro.

Note to self: her name was Madeleine Morris. (In fact, her name probably still is Madeleine Morris...........)

Not seen her present anything before, but she was a correspondent based in Washington a few months back.

BBC News: Presenters & Rotas

It was interesting to see the BBC's former Sports Editor Mihir Bose on as a guest to review the papers today - media reports at the time of his departure suugested bad blood between him and the BBC.
